Review Contemporary Meaning Of Realism

In this thesis, the argument is the realistic meaning and value of the different kinds of print making. At first, I analyze the origin and characteristic of the realistic thought trend. Then I expound the enlightenment of China's modern art, modern print making as the realism entering China. According to the development of history and the four periods of the modern print making, I have divided the Xu Kuang's art into four stages to analyze to find out the realism influence, including the development, value, meaning of realism, on the print making of his every stage.Through the research of the historical background, literary theory and the realistic print making at each stage, I analyze Xu Kuang's works in that time, and find out the realism presentation and aesthetic value in different time, especially the contemporary era. Such as, how the realism in Xu Kuang's works be confirmed and developed since 1949. Above all, the realistic art have its artistic expression and value no matter in revolutionary period or peaceful period.
