| Decision-making is a cognitive process of evaluation and selection among alternatives.Decision-making in the context of risky and uncertain was called risky decision-making.When the available time of decision-making is constrained,individuals would feel urgency due to time pressure.Previous researches have shown that time pressure has an effect on individuals’ risk-taking behavior,but its mechanism remains unclear.This study aimed to investigate the effect of time pressure on risky decisionmaking during the sequential risk-taking task.To further investigate whether different risk situations could affect risky decision-making under time pressure,we further manipulated reward magnitude to set up high-risk and low-risk situations.In addition,this study adopted Electroencephalogram(EEG)to investigate neural activities during risky decision-making under time pressure.Specifically,experiment 1 investigated the differences of risk-taking behavior between time pressure group and no time pressure group.On the basis of experiment 1,by manipulating the reward magnitude,experiment2 further investigated the effects of time pressure on risk-taking behavior in high-risk and low-risk situations.Based on experiment 2,experiment 3 adopted EEG to explore the neural activities of individuals’ risk-taking behavior under time pressure in highrisk and low-risk situations.The behavioral results showed that time pressure could influence individual’s risktaking behavior.Specifically,compared with the participants under no time pressure,the participants under time pressure showed less risk-taking behavior,which suggested that individuals under time pressure showed risk aversion tendency.Moreover,the study found that the effect of time pressure on individuals’ risk-taking behavior was different in high and low risk situations.Specifically,the participants under no time pressure showed less risk-taking behavior in high-risk situation than that in low-risk situation,but for the participants under time pressure,there was no difference in risktaking behavior between high-risk situation and low-risk situation.The EEG results also showed that,in no time pressure group,the P2 amplitude was larger in high-risk situation than that in low-risk situation.In time pressure group,however,there was no difference of the P2 amplitude in high-risk and low-risk situations.In conclusion,the study suggested that individuals showed risk aversion tendency in sequential risk-taking task under time pressure.By manipulating the reward magnitude,this study further found that,in no time pressure group,risk-taking behavior was less and P2 amplitude induced by decision-making process was greater in high-risk situation than that in low-risk situation.However,in time pressure group,these difference of risk-taking behavior and P2 amplitude between high-risk situation and low-risk situation could not be found.This dissertation explored the effect of time pressure on risk-taking behavior and EEG activities,which had some inspiration on dealing with the impact of time pressure on life. |
