With the advent of the 21 st century,people’s attention to women is no longer limited to traditional fields such as marriage,family and education.Women’s mental health has also become the focus of the international community.Therefore,it is particularly urgent to use theories and strategies to translate related books to help women relieve their psychological pressure.Taking the third to fifth chapters of Hummingbird Lane as the translation practice text,the translator writes this report according to the translation experience.Hummingbird Lane tells the story that the two heroines help each other and overcome the psychological barriers together.At the same time,through making a delicate description of love,family and friendship,the author praises the girls for their persistence in the dreams,their love for art and their deep friendship.There are a lot of character dialogues in Hummingbird Lane,through which the author expresses the character of the person and promotes the development of the story.Whether the dialogues of characters are translated properly is the key to the whole translation project.So the translator not only needs to understand the implicature in the characters’ dialogue,but also requires to choose reasonable theory and strategies to convey this conversational implicature in the translation.Grice once proposed that the two sides of the dialogue following the Cooperative Principle can produce the general conversational implicature.When the principle is violated,special dialogue implicature may arise in the dialogue.It can be seen that Grice’s Cooperative Principle has certain guiding significance for the translation of this text.In order to convey the hidden meaning of the personal dialogue and express the features of the original text,the translator chooses the appropriate translation strategies under the guidance of the quantity maxim,quality maxim,manner maxim,relevance maxim and the violation of the Cooperative Principle.
