Research On The Tragic Images Of Spy Drama In The New Century

Tragicalness is a philosophical and aesthetic term that has been considered by tragedy theorists.Since the new century,spy dramas have a new situation,which stems from the dynamic historical law of the development of spy dramas themselves,that is,from "anti-spy films" to spy dramas.Character roles have changed from binary opposition to multiple juxtapositions;spy narratives have changed from grand narrative to individual writing;genre model has changed from single type to genre integration.Along with the practice of spy dramas,the connotation and extension of spy dramas have become richer.The study of spy dramas should not hover in the study of audiovisuals,narratives,genres,characters,and case studies;therefore,the study of spy dramas can focus on tragic images.The article adopts the research methods of documentary analysis,textual analysis and comparative research,and takes tragedy as the theoretical basis,spy dramas as the text and tragic images as the research object,which is a new dimension to explore the tragic images in spy dramas.Then,how do spy dramas create tragic images? The core of this paper is what kind of tragicalness the portrayal presents.Based on the theory of characterization,this thesis divides the tragic images in spy dramas into the tragedy of the hero,the tragedy of the negative image,and the tragedy of the minor character.The tragedy of heroes is mainly to sort out the positive spy hero characters,trying to reveal the tragedy and sadness of spy heroes from the war era in which they lived,the confinement of body and mind,the search for the meaning of life and value,and the contradictory conflict between faith and reality,individual "sacrifice" and spiritual rebirth,and to express the tragedy of the same group through the struggle represented by individuals.While the tragedy of the negative image is analyzed from the value factors of their own "goodness" and "spirit of resistance",as well as the audience’s "justification" of the "evil" of the negative image itself,which presents the entanglement and complexity of the tragic image of the antagonist by dialectically analyzing the ignorance,misplaced beliefs,worldly utilitarianism and personal emotions of the negative images.The tragic nature of minor characters is both from their own disadvantage and the factors of the tangible and invisible huge network in society.In addition,the tragedy of minor characters is about the struggle between "good " and "evil",which is mainly in the sense of ethics and morality,and their own character defects,cognitive limitations,and individual destiny can also answer their sad fate.The tragic images of spy dramas include but are not limited to the above three categories,but the above three types of tragic images are quite representative of the subjects in spy dramas and are the focus of research attention,and the tragicalness expressed by these images can generally reflect the tragic images in spy dramas.
