Abstract/Summary:
Zhu Guangqian is a well-known modern Chinese literary theorist, and he is particularly concerned with the "form" problem in literature. In his literary theory construction,Zhu Guangqian always regarded the issue of literary forms as the key object of investigation, highlighted the artistic characteristics of literature by explaining the problem of forms, corrected the unhealthy trends in the literary and social circles at that time, and maintained the purity and standardization of literature and art, thus realizing his artistic ideals. This paper takes Zhu Guangqian’s "the view of forms" as the research object, based on Zhu Guangqian’s concern about literary forms, adopts the research method of unifying logic and history, systematically combs and studies Zhu Guangqian’s view of literary forms, and tries to present the whole picture of Zhu Guangqian’s view of literary forms and explore it’s value and influence. In addition to the introduction, this paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter introduces the social context and theoretical origin of Zhu Guangqian’s "view of literary forms",and points out that Zhu Guangqian’s research on literary forms began with the general concern and fierce debate on the old and new issues of literary forms during the "May Fourth" period. In terms of theory, the formation of Zhu Guangqian’s literary form concept was most directly influenced by the Tongcheng School’s literary thought "Yifa" theory. On this basis,Zhu Guangqian combined the Western aesthetic concept of the formal school dominated by Croce, and systematically integrated it into his view of literary forms..The second chapter summarizes the stylistic presentation of Zhu Guangqian’s literary formal view by combing Zhu Guangqian’s criteria for dividing different genres.Starting from three aspects of tragedy, poetry and prose, the paper analyzes Zhu Guangqian’s understanding of the uniqueness of different styles in detail, showing the importance of "form" in Zhu Guangqian’s theory. The third chapter introduces the theoretical connotation of Zhu Guangqian’s view of literary forms.First of all,Zhu Guangqian’s view of forms is an organic whole. He regards literary works as an organic compound of content and form, and looks at the organic whole of literary works from the perspective of the whole and the parts.Secondly, from the perspective of literary creation theory,Zhu Guangqian believes that the process of literary creation is the process of "expression",which involves the relationship between emotional thoughts and language.Zhu Guangqian deconstructed the traditional method of distinguishing emotional thought and language by substance and form,in order to correct people’s misunderstandings between content and form. Finally, from the perspective of literary appreciation.Zhu Guangqian believes that all literature is a combination of taste and imagery, but he chose to interpret this concept from the field of poetry. The relationship between taste and image can be regarded as the relationship between subjective and objective, content and form, emotion and scene. The fourth chapter analyzes the value and significance of Zhu Guangqian’s view of literary forms.Zhu Guangqian’s view of literary forms embodies his appeal to aesthetic modernity. His literary research has always been based on literature, compared with the Hegel school of scholars using philosophical theories to summarize the laws of literature,Zhu Guangqian’s literary theory can better reflect the artistic characteristics of literature.Under the trend of "turning inward" in literature in the new period, people re-paid attention to the theory of form and began to re-understand the relationship between content and form.Li Zehou and Tong Qingbing’s views on the relationship between content and form can be seen as a supplement and development of Zhu Guangqian’s literary view of forms.
