| As a popular fantasy novel in the world,Harry Potter series continues to attract the attention of the literary world.At present,the academic research on it involves a variety of critical methods,including prototype criticism,feminist criticism,ecological criticism,narratology and so on.It is not difficult to find from domestic and foreign literature that only a few papers analyze Harry Potter series from the perspective of trauma,involving scars,disease,death and youth growth,but do not make a systematic analysis of trauma writing.Based on the trauma theory,this paper discusses the value and significance of trauma writing for a series of works through the analysis of the characters’ trauma experience and trauma plot.The first chapter analyzes the trauma writing of the series of works with Freud,Kathy Carus,Jung and other related trauma theory systems.After the traumatic experience,the protagonist Harry Potter obviously has a split in his heart,with both a dark side and a bright side.Traumatic memories have been lurking in Harry Potter for a long time since childhood.In the process of Harry Potter entering adolescence,the traumatic memory gradually awakened and reappeared in his mind,which brought him great pain.When Harry Potter fully entered puberty,the concentrated outbreak of traumatic memory brought great psychological shock to him and made him feel unprecedented pain.However,trauma has also become the starting point of Harry’s growth.He learns to accept trauma,heal trauma,overcome difficulties,and finally achieve self-identity.The second chapter analyzes the narrative strategies of trauma writing,including the narrative structure of binary opposition,the narrative mode of flashback,the narrative mode of growth,the technique of delay and mutation and intertextuality.First of all,the binary opposition narrative provides the most fundamental narrative power for trauma writing,and it is also the basic structure throughout the series of works,including the surface structure of the opposition between good and evil and the deep structure of the inner division of characters into the same.Secondly,growth narrative is the basic narrative mode of Harry Potter series,which reflects the linear narrative logic of the traumatic plot of Harry Potter series.Under the logic that the traditional growth narrative encounters setbacks-faces setbacks-changes values-obtains growth,it shows Harry’s growth process from trauma-escaping trauma-accepting trauma-challenging himself-Overcoming trauma,and reflects the theme of post-traumatic growth of a series of works.Thirdly,the narrative techniques such as flashback,delay and mutation create a fascinating narrative effect of the ups and downs of trauma plot on the basis of the linear narrative of trauma latency,recurrence and outbreak.Flashback shows the injury and growth of Harry Potter brought by traumatic memory through the repeated narration of Harry Potter’s traumatic memory;The use of delaying techniques to slow down the rhythm of the story,and the sudden turn after the lengthening of the plot shows the sudden and unintentional outbreak of psychological trauma,as well as the huge psychological shock caused by trauma to Harry Potter.Finally,intertextuality focuses on the correlation between the series of Harry Potter works.By analyzing the correlation between traumatic characters and traumatic plots,it summarizes the integrity and panorama of trauma writing in the series of works.The third chapter is a summary of the characteristics and value of trauma writing in the series of works.This chapter summarizes the three main characteristics of trauma writing,which are empirical,commercial,popular and classic.From the author’s point of view,trauma writing is closely related to Rowling’s trauma experience,which makes trauma writing have a strong color of personal experience.From the perspective of readers’ acceptance,trauma writing also has the characteristics of commerciality and popularity.From the continuous fermentation of the series of works,the trauma writing of the series of works has gradually realized the process from popularity to classics. |
