A Comparative Study Of Zhu Yunming And Wang Duo’s Cursive Script

Based on the works and related books of Zhu Yunming and Wang Duo,and taking the calligraphy history from Wei,Jin to Ming and Qing Dynasties as the background,this thesis is divided into three chapters to compare their cursive calligraphy.The first chapter explores the causes of their cursive calligraphy style from the aspects of life experience,unique personality,calligraphy teachers and calligraphy thoughts.The second chapter studies the artistic forms of their cursive script,compares the similarities and differences in writing,calligraphy,composition and ink,and analyzes their artistic style in depth.The third chapter analyzes the Enlightenment of their cursive art to creation and its influence on future generations.From the perspective of the causes of book style,their life experiences are relatively rough and their temperament is complex and changeable.With the influence of teachers and calligraphy thoughts,they are highly personalized.They are based on tradition and bring forth the new.Judging from the characteristics of the artistic form,Zhu Yunming’s cursive script uses a large number of side edges.The pen is more round than square,round but not meat,but not square.It is thick and vigorous,with fewer and more lines on the knot.It focuses on the role of "points",replaces the line with "points".The shape is changeable,and the knot words are loose and not connected.It deliberately highlights the horizontal trend.The lines develop horizontally,the long lines extend,the scattered words surround each other,the ranks are unknown,interspersed and avoided,and it is an integral whole,Highlight the rules of "riprap steps";Wang Duo’s cursive script is mostly written by the center forward,and the lines are fast and changeable.The lines are mostly oblique lines,arcs and oblique arcs.The lines are in the form of "leaping,jumping and flying".The pen is more square than round.It is ingeniously conceived in the application of square folding.The pen force is strong,the structure is straight,the density is unpredictable,and the ups and downs are maximized.It highlights the strange connection between the single word axes and the double axis connection method,highlighting the longitudinal potential and more continuity,The "ink rising" method of ink method is more unique.It comprehensively uses the combination of ink method,especially the extreme comparison between "ink rising" and "ink thirsty" to enhance the visual impact.From the perspective of influence and enlightenment,Zhu Yunming’s style of calligraphy had more influence on the students of Wu School of calligraphy and infiltrated some calligraphers in the late Ming Dynasty.Wang Duo had a great influence on the calligraphers from the late Ming Dynasty to modern times.Japan was the country most significantly affected by Wang Duo’s style of calligraphy abroad;Their cursive art also inspires us to innovate in cursive writing,grasp the mystery of composition and layout,advocate the full expression of subject temperament and pay attention to strengthening internal cultivation,so that the level of cursive writing can be greatly improved.
