Research On Rural Hollowing From The Perspective Of Family Strategy

The issue of "agriculture,rural areas,and farmers",as the most important task for the Communist Party of China,is regarded as a fundamental issue related to the national economy and people’s livelihood.However,as the agricultural production and living space,rural areas have experienced overall functional decline in some areas.The phenomenon of hollowing out is becoming increasingly prominent.It is an important issue in the study of "agriculture,rural areas,and farmers" to accurate and deeply understand rural hollowing.Most of the existing studies of hollow villages were done following the theoretical path of urban-rural factor flow unevenness or urban-rural regional system differences.Although the formation of rural hollowing is subject to objective policy factors,it is related to the factors that villagers choose based on family survival strategies.This article is based on the field survey of Yu village in the east of Henan province and the family strategy theory,using case study methods of qualitative research.This article mainly analyzes the process of hollowing out the Yu village from three aspects,discusses the intergenerational transformation of the family livelihood model and the practical choice of specific family strategies.The study found that:(1)The increase in the flow of households in the village is not only a manifestation of the villagers ’independence from the village ’s production and life,but also the result of the family ’s return to the center of personal life.The individual regains labor domination arrangements belongs to himself from the national collective;(2)Strengthening the intergenerational family helps children to achieve family succession development while it objectively destroys the continuity of village population reproduction,resulting in the normal reserve of the village future population parts,villagers born in the 1960 s and 1970 s will become the last peasants;(3)In order to adjust the direction and goals of family development better,there is a family hollow due to family members have stepped out of the village to produce,which is also a hollow structure in the village.The absence of the family will lead to the exhaustion and stillness of the rural society.Besides,the vitality of the village cannot be kept away from the daily life that each family spreads on the village.
