A Study On The Improvement Of The New Era Farmers’ Happiness Led By The Need For A Better Life

In the Report to the 19 th National Congress of the CPC,General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: to meet people’s ever-growing needs for a better life;to form an effective social governance and good social order by improving social fairness and justice;to make sure people’s sense of gain,sense of happiness and sense of security to be more substantial,more secure and more sustainable.Therefore,people’s need for a better life is the important guide for the improvement of people’s happiness.Instructed by the “Two No Worries and Three Guarantees”,“Targeted Poverty Alleviation” and “Rural Revitalization”,the CPC and government have published a series of policies to benefit farmers in the new era,which improves their life greatly.(Two No Worries And Three Guarantees: Rural poor people are free from worries over food and clothing and have access to compulsory education,basic medical services and safe housing).It is of great significance to study the strategies on the increase of farmers’ happiness for a country like China where the majority of its population is farmers.It is a part of CPC’s anticipation of society in the New Era to construct new socialist rural area and to improve farmers’ happiness with the instruction of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era and with the objective of seeking happiness for the people and meeting people’s needs for a better life.This thesis conducts questionnaires and interviews for farmers in Yantai,Shandong in order to learn about farmers’ happiness in this area.This thesis intends to benefit the increase of farmers’ happiness of China by giving suggestions based on the analysis and with the guidance of meeting people’s needs for a better life.The thesis mainly investigates the farmers ’ happiness based on Yantai,Shandong province in China New Era,and tries to find the source of farmers’ happiness within eight aspects that satisfy their demands of better lives,such as Material,Culture,Democracy,Rule of Law,Equity,Justice,Security and Environment.Then analyzes farmer’s satisfaction to the eight respective aspects,furthermore,finds out the problems and analyzes the reasons specifically again.Through investigations and researches,the thesis argues that most of farmers are satisfied with their present living conditions.However,some typical issues in rural areas raise author ’ s attention,such as low grain plating income,limited entertainment activities,imbalance in education,health and housing,and inadequate improvement in environment protection etc.The thesis believes that farmers’ satisfaction to the eight aspects still needs to be improved.Regarding the problems,the thesis tries to provide some suggestions under the guide of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,especially on the basis of General Secretary Xi’s important speech for the concept of “Brilliant life leads the improvement of happiness”.The specific suggestions lies in different aspects like below: Boosting the rural economy to meet their increasing material demands,and developing socialist advanced culture to satisfy their increasing spirit demands as well.In addition,improving their democratic consciousness and their literacy in Rule of Law to meet their justice demands,to build “ Law-Ruled Villages ”.Eventually,promoting the environmental preservation to build “Green Villages”.
