A Study On The Use Of Mobile Media By The Elderly In The Western Rural Area ——Based On The Survey Of Jingtai County In Gansu Province

The use of mobile media has a profound impact on the development of the digital age,the elderly groups are in a weak position in physiological and social adaptability,and can not equally enjoy the dividends brought by the development of new media.Therefore,under the background of deepening aging,rapid development of digital technology and unbalanced development of urban and rural areas in China,exploring the use of mobile media among the elderly in rural areas,especially in Western rural areas,can improve their quality of life and meet their spiritual and cultural needs.For the development of society,it has great practical value in bridging the digital divide of the elderly,promoting active aging and the comprehensive and balanced development of the digital economy.In this thesis,a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews were conducted among 606 elderly people in eight villages of Jingtai County,Gansu Province from three aspects: the use of mobile media,participation and critical ability;Through the correlation analysis,this thesis analyzes the factors that affect the use of mobile media in rural elderly groups.This thesis from the mobile phone media ownership rate,wireless network installation,service life,average daily use time,contact purpose,content,learn to use channels,master the degree of self-evaluation and other aspects to understand the general situation of rural elderly groups using mobile phone media.The study finds that the level of participation and interaction of the rural elderly group for mobile media is shallow and the level is low;The media critical ability is divided into five dimensions to investigate,comprehensive view of the rural elderly group of mobile media critical ability is weak.Through the survey data,combined with the interview content,it is found that there are five major problems in the use of mobile media by the elderly in rural areas.The use of mobile media is low,the use of mobile media by the elderly tends to be entertainment,the media literacy of the elderly is generally low,the high demand for mobile media coexists with the imbalance of the development of mobile media for the elderly,and the rural elderly lack social support for mobile media use.Through the statistical analysis of the survey data,from the personal factors,social factors,media factors three levels of analysis of the factors that affect the rural elderly groups of mobile media use.In order to solve these problems,this thesis from the national level of power supply,the media level of assistance suggestions,the family level of digital feedback,the individual level of self-improvement four aspects to bridge the digital divide of the elderly group,enhance the rural elderly group using mobile media benefits put forward suggestions.
