A Study On Wang Manyu’s Technique & Tactic Features With Male Characteristics Playing Style

In order to explore Wang Manyu’s technique & tactic features with male characteristics playing style,this study chose 15 matches of Wang from 2017 to 2019,following three phases evaluation method to conduct data collection and analysis,employ the method of literature review,video observation,comparative analysis,questionnaire survey and so on research methods to make analysis on Wang’s technique & tactic features from perspectives such as placement,techniques,and ball routes.What’s more,this study also collects data on part of the indicators of female technique with male characteristics for comparative analysis.The major conclusions were as follows1.Wang performed very actively in service and attack phase in which short services followed by backhand attack towards opponents’ backhand combo was mainly used,and the most used ball path was backhand diagonal route.In receive and attack phase,Wang had an all-round receive & attack system which characterized with the domination of offensive techniques coordinated with some control techniques,and she had good judgment on ball placement,high quality backhand twist loop.However,Wang needs to improve striking stability.In stalemate phase,Wang played with fast pace,and had strong backhand ability,outstanding inside-out forehand technique,but her forehand attack just reached common quality,and lack of forehand & backhand transition ability and awareness of changing ball routes positively.2.Wang’s playing style had male players’ features with positive offence,emphasizing on speed and power,sticking on conducting planed tactics.However,this was one of the reasons that Wang had relative less diversity in competitions.When playing against different types of opponents,Wang always played with fast pace in which she still hadn’t make full use of control techniques and need improvement on transition techniques system.Wang had advantageous skills of backhand twist loop and inside-out skills which allowed she usually initiate attack during competition,scoring a lot through self-initiated plays.However,Wang dealt with key points not very well,and lost many points by self-made mistakes.
