Research On Normal University Students’ Learning State Under The Context Of Argumentation On Socioscientific Issues

Learning state plays an important role in students’ learning,which has attracted more and more researchers’ attention.The quality of normal students will determine the level of teachers in the future.Therefore,it is very important to pay attention to the learning states of normal university students in class.At present,many scholars have carried out rich research on learning state,but their research focuses on students’ overall state in the whole class,ignoring that students’ learning state may change with the change of learning activities or learning situations.The purpose of this study is to explore the learning states of normal university students in the context of Socioscientific Issues,how their learning states changes in different learning activities,and what are the possible reasons for such changes.This study firstly defines the core concepts of Socioscientific Issues and learning state on the basis of literature research,and then based on the existing research,this research develops two teaching models namely the "question-decision" argument and the"positive-negative argument" argument.Thirdly,construct the data analysis framework of this study based on the comfort zone theory.Finally,through the observation and analysis of students’ learning state,the conclusion is drawn.The results of this study show that normal university students mainly have three learning states:comfort zone,anxiety zone and growth zone.Some students will stay in one learning state,while others will change in multiple learning states.Literature,peer support,teaching models,teacher intervention,and other factors(including the controversy of Socioscientific Issues,class size,teaching time,etc.)may have an impact on students’ learning statesThe first chapter of this paper is raising question,which mainly discusses the origin of this research topic and defines the research problems and plans.The second chapter is literature review.In this chapter,we firstly define the core concepts of Socioscientific Issues and learning state according to the existing literature.Secondly,we sort out the existing literature to construct the theoretical framework of this study.The third chapter is the research design.The main work includes selecting research objects,determining teaching topics,and designing teaching activities.Then we conducted the implementation of the empirical research,and the data analysis.The data analysis framework for this study was determined based on the comfort zone theory.The fourth chapter is the result of the research.By analyzing typical student cases to illustrate the characteristics of students’learning states in different learning activities.Then analyze the factors that affect students’learning state.The fifth chapter is the reflection and outlook of the research.We reflect the process and results,and propose the outlook of the research.
