| Since the reform and opening up,with the rapid development of China’s economy, the impact of human capital on income inequality has been increasing. Therefore, this paper will comprehensively explore the impact of education investment on income inequality in China from multiple dimensions.Based on the research at the national level and the collection and collation of a large number of statistical data, this paper conducted an empirical study on the time series data of education investment and income inequality in China from 1978 to 2017,and found that there was an inverted u-shaped relationship between the two.Due to the limitation of data sources, only the data from 2000 to 2017 were used in the empirical study of provincial data. The results showed that the inverted u-shaped relationship between education investment and income inequality was not valid at the provincial level.Through the study and comparison of the whole country and the provinces, the paper describes the influence of education investment on income inequality in China. At the end of this paper,in order to study how individual income is affected by education factors at the individual level,an empirical study was conducted using CGSS2015 survey data. The results show that with the increase of education level or better access to education resources, individual income will also increase. The empirical study of this paper finds that education factors have important effects on income inequality at different levels, but the effects are different and differentiated at different levels. From the perspective of China as a whole, there is indeed an inverted u-shaped relationship between education level and income inequality, but this relationship has not been verified at the provincial level. This paper argues that the cause of this situation is the current level of education development in China is still in the primary stage, the education development level distribution, though overall improved, but at different times and different regional disparities, only further improve education development is not balanced, help to improve the income inequality. |
