| In the middle Tang Dynasty,how to deal with the challenges of Buddhism and Taoism,how to revive the status of Confucianism,is to integrate the interpretation of Taoism,or to rebuild the status of Confucianism,especially to revive the education of Confucianism in order to reorganize the social atmosphere,which has become a common problem for the literati and officials of the Tang Dynasty to think about.For this reason,Liu Zongyuan’s educational thoughts established a close connection with the social atmosphere and ideological trend at that time.His view of "avoiding fame and seeking truth",the educational content of "the origin of the way",and the educational methods and principles of "obedience to nature" are all closely related to the social customs of the decline of Confucianism and the worship of Buddhism and Taoism in the middle Tang Dynasty.Liu Zongyuan advocated the idea of "teacher of preaching",but it is relatively implicit,so most of the current discussions in the academic circle think that "taking the truth and removing its name",that is,"avoiding the name and seeking truth" is Liu Zongyuan’s thought of teaching.In essence,Liu Zongyuan’s real thought of teaching is not equal to his strategy of avoiding fame and seeking truth,which pays more attention to practice.The reason why Liu Zongyuan put forward such a view is closely related to the social atmosphere and his personal experience at that time.Secondly,in the content of education,Liu Zongyuan put forward the idea of "the origin of the way".As for the origin of the way,the academic circles often regard it as the content of education,and discuss it quite a lot.There are many convincing views,so a basic consensus has been formed.Through the investigation of the academic trend of thought in the middle Tang Dynasty,Liu Zongyuan’s resume in his early years,and the related political movements,the author finds that the idea of "the origin of the way" has a great relationship with it.“Tao Xu’s” educational thought has been basically recognized by the academic community,but it has not been paid attention to.Therefore,this paper lists it as an independent chapter for in-depth investigation and carding.In Liu Zongyuan’s works,the connotation of “Tao Xu’s” thought is closely related to educational content and educational activities.The main reasons are: first,the family origin and the social environment formed by the circle of communication.Second,the direct education ofparents.Thirdly,the Confucianism education declined and the ethos was destroyed in the middle Tang Dynasty,and Tao Xu’s education thought was the "remedy" and call of his time.The above is the educational theory of Liu Zongyuan’s educational thought.In fact,Liu Zongyuan also has great achievements in educational practice.Liu Zongyuan’s life-long educational activities can be divided into Chang’an period,Yongzhou period and Liuzhou period.The specific contents of the educational activities in these three periods are letter communication activities,visiting activities and school running activities.In addition,Liu Zongyuan family,relatives and friends also have many younger students to follow the study,so family education is also an educational activity that can not be ignored.Therefore,Liu Zongyuan’s educational thought has a profound influence on later generations,mainly in two aspects.In theory,it reestablished a paradigm for the development of Confucianism education in Song Dynasty and later,and to a certain extent,it reversed the unhealthy trend of education since the Wei and Jin Dynasties;in practice,it mainly shaped an example for local schools and played a pioneering role,which promoted the development of education in Southwest minority areas. |
