Research On Interactive Rituals In Mobile Online Games

Mobile online games are a new form of games after being digitized,networked and mobile.In addition to the general attributes of digital cultural products,they also have outstanding media attributes.It builds a convenient interactive channel between players and their game avatars,game avatars and game symbols,players and players,and meets the social and entertainment needs of players.A large number of studies have explored the different effects of mobile online games on players and the potential to trigger the evolution of communication technology.However,few scholars have studied it in the paradigm of interactive rituals.This article takes the theory of interactive ritual chains created by Randall Collins as a theoretical framework,analyzing the characteristics of media products of mobile online games and how it builds interactive rituals for players,and then discusses the interactive behavior and emotional communication mechanism between different players.Observing the communication phenomenon in mobile online games,this article finds that the core mechanism for realizing interactive rituals is the feedback enhancement between players’ common focus and shared emotional state.Players pay attention to the focus through interactive activities such as verbal communication and solidarity,and the strength of the social relationship will affect their interactive behavior;the emotional state can be spread and shared by the game medium;The feedback enhancement between the above two factors will trigger the collective excitement of the participants of the game interactive rituals.In general,the purpose of players participating in interactive rituals is to gain symbolic capital,emotional energy,and group unity.In the game interaction ritual market,most players think that they get more rewards than they pay,and they think that participating in game interactions has a certain value to the real human interaction.However,excessively indulging in interactive rituals in the context of games and the capital attributes or consumerist cultural characteristics contained in mobile online games may bring some negative effects that cannot be ignored for individuals and society,including counteracting reality interactions,spreading incorrect world views and values,jeopardizing national culture security.Therefore,it is necessary to correctly understand and use mobile online games,which is inseparable from government supervision and personal reason.
