Multiple Social Space Research

In this article,I investigated and understood the Spring Festival ceremony of M village,a Dai village in Mangshi,Yunnan through participation observation method,interview method and literature review.Taking the multiple ritual space presented by M Village in the Spring Festival ceremony of family,the M village temple and the Buddhist temple as the research obj ect,this paper systematically reveals the dynamic mechanism,structural form and functional characteristics of the multiple ritual space presented by M Village in the Spring F estival ceremony.The dynamic mechanism of multiple ritual space presented by family,the M village temple and the Buddhist temple in the ritual scene includes the regulation of hierarchy,the division of spatial boundaries,the construction of actions and the influence of culture,which j ointly promote the evolution of social space in M Village.These dynamic mechanisms form the institutional structure that restricts the hierarchy of multiple ritual Spaces,the spatial structure that separates the boundaries of multiple ritual Spaces,the action structure that constructs multiple ritual Spaces,and the cultural structure that dominates multiple ritual Spaces.These common structures constitute the structural characteristics of multiple ritual Spaces.The structure of these ceremonial Spaces is not only interdependent and closely coordinated but also contains structural contradictions such as inequality,restriction and conflict.Multiple ritual Spaces have various positive,negative,obvious and latent functions for villagers’social life.These functions are relative and transformable in people’s ritual life,and they have different effects on different people,so the understanding of functions cannot be rigid.If we draw a coordinate for positive,negative,explicit,and implicit functions,then we cannot fix each of them in a quadrant,but we can have a deeper and more complete understanding of their relationship.In this coordinate,the right side of the horizontal axis is a positive function and the left side is a negative function.This axis determines the direction of the function based on the effect of the function on people,and determines whether the function is a positive function or a negative function based on the position of the coordinate.Above the vertical axis is the explicit function,while below is the latent function.This axis determines the direction of the function based on people’s awareness of the function,and determines whether the function is explicit or latent function based on the position of the coordinates.The functional analysis of multiple ritual Spaces makes a deeper practical application of Robert Morton’s functional analysis paradigm and deepens the analysis and understanding of social functions in sociology.The analysis of the dynamic mechanism,structural form and Functional characteristics of ritual space Synthesizes the structuralism,constructivism and functionalism of sociology,which not only strengthens the practical research of social space,but also deepens and expands the analytical depth of social space,and promotes the analysis and practice of social space from both theoretical and practical aspects.
