The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out that "Employment is the greatest livelihood of the people".Employment is not only related to the happiness and well-being of individuals and families, but also to the stability and development of the whole society. In particular, the employment of college graduates is related to the return on investment of national higher education,as well as the contribution of high-level human capital to social, economic, political and cultural aspects. Therefore, the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China puts forward that "we should provide all-round public employment services and promote the employment and Entrepreneurship of young groups such as college graduates and migrant workers through multiple channels".In order to keep pace with the times, put forward more valuable employment guidance, and better guide college graduates to achieve high-quality employment,it is necessary to carry out detailed and targeted research and Analysis on the employment direction and quality of college graduates. From the perspective of the employment market,in recent years, the financial industry has been one of the most popular industries for graduates.Jobs in the financial sector are often considered to be well paid, decent, promising and relatively easy.Especially for graduates majoring in economics, although the financial industry is more competitive than other industries,a large proportion of them still sign up for the financial industry every year.Compared with the graduates who go to non-financial industry,do the graduates who work in financial industry get better treatment and career development? How satisfied are they with their work?Is the pursuit of hot industries blindly following the crowd,or is it a rational choice to achieve high employment quality? From the literature, there are abundant researches on the evaluation system of employment quality, and the evaluation structure and methods of job satisfaction have been fruitful. On the basis of theoretical research, many scholars carry out empirical research on college graduates, and analyze the impact of human capital and social factors on the employment quality of graduates. However, the current research still has the following problems.First of all,in terms of the selection of research objects, most of the existing researches take undergraduate graduates as examples, and few take graduate students as research objects. However, from the perspective of the current employment trend, the proportion of graduates who take part in postgraduate entrance examination is getting higher and higher, the proportion of students who are directly employed is getting lower, and the proportion of graduate students in campus recruitment is getting higher and higher. In addition, most of the studies do not distinguish the majors of graduates, and the main employment direction and employment situation of graduates of different majors are different,so the research results are not very meaningful for graduates.Secondly, most of the studies are only limited to the investigation and evaluation of the quality of the initial employment of the graduates, and there is little analysis of the investigation and career development of the previous graduates. In addition, most of the existing research starts from the graduates themselves, studies the impact of human capital and social capital on the quality of employment, and few studies the impact of industry selection on the quality of employment from the perspective of industry. Therefore,in this paper, aiming at the graduates of the master of economics as the research object,a questionnaire on the quality of employment was compiled and a sample survey was conducted on the graduates of s University.215 valid questionnaires were collected. Then, according to the industry, the respondents are divided into two groups:financial industry and non-financial industry. They are compared from two aspects:salary, promotion, working hours, benefits and other objective conditions,as well as job satisfaction and leader colleague satisfaction. The results are as follows:(1)From the objective situation, the career development of the financial industry shows the characteristics of higher initial income and greater differences in personal development in the later stage. The non-financial industry shows the characteristics of low income in the early stage of work, but steady improvement in income and position in the later stage.Women’s income and promotion in the financial industry are behind men’s,but there is little difference between women and men in the non-financial industry.(2)From the perspective of subjective evaluation, the impact of industry on job satisfaction is not obvious.Gender, marriage, year of graduation, examination and practice, student cadre experience and so on have certain influence on the satisfaction of different dimensions such as salary, promotion or leading colleagues. At the same time,we find that the same factors may have different effects on the satisfaction of two industries under the same evaluation dimension.Through the exchange and interview with alumni, the article explains the reasons for the above phenomena. On this basis, the following suggestions are put forward.First of all,for graduates, they need to know themselves and the other. On the one hand,we should correctly understand our own advantages and disadvantages, and combine our own interests and aspirations to choose industries and cities.On.the other hand,we should have a correct understanding of the industry,in a long-term perspective, and comprehensively understand the development of different industries and the salary promotion system of different units. When you are looking for a job,you should have a correct attitude,be prepared actively, keep calm, not be confused by the starting salary of graduation, and blindly pursue some industries or positions. After employment,it should also be adjusted in time according to its own situation and actual work.Secondly, for colleges and universities, vocational guidance should be customized according to the actual situation of each major. With the help of alumni resources,we can help students better understand the employment situation and industry development,so as to establish a long-term career development plan.Thirdly, for the work unit,we should further improve the income incentive mechanism, staff training and promotion mechanism, and improve the staffs job satisfaction. Finally, for the government departments, some policies should be adopted to promote the reasonable flow of talents between regions and industries, and relevant regulations should be adopted to promote the improvement of employees’ treatment and satisfaction.
