The use of mobile phones shows the characteristics of younger age,and teenagers are the vulnerable group of problematic mobile phone use.Impulsivity is one of the reasons for individuals to become dependent on mobile phones.Previous studies have found that impulsive behavior is accompanied by the lack of inhibitory control ability. It is generally believed that the stronger the impulsivity, the worse the inhibitory control ability.Learning to regulate behavior in pursuit of long-term goals is an important developmental task for adolescents.Inhibitory control is a core component of executive function.Successful inhibitory control involves suppressing a dominant behavior,or suppressing a behavior that has already begun.Inhibitory control is gradually developed during adolescence.Junior high school students are in a critical period of physical and mental development, poor inhibition and control ability, easy to be affected by the external environment.Whether adolescents’ mobile phone dependence behavior will have an impact on inhibition control is a problem worthy of attention and discussion. This study adopts the method of self-report questionnaire and behavioral experiment to understand the situation of mobile phone dependence of junior high school students, and further study the characteristics of impulsivity and inhibition control of mobile phone dependence of junior high school students.Firstly,a questionnaire survey was conducted on four classes of students in a middle school by using MPAI.According to the criteria of mobile phone dependence, mobile phone dependence and non-mobile phone dependence groups were screened out.In Study 1,Barratt impulsivity Questionnaire was used to investigate the impulsivity characteristics of junior high school students with mobile phone dependence. In study2,Flanker task and stop-signal task were used to investigate the characteristics of cognitive inhibition and response control, respectively, and to compare the differences between the two groups. The results of study 1 showed that there was a significant positive correlation between mobile phone dependence and impulsivity and impulsivity, that is,the higher the degree of mobile phone dependence, the higher the impulsivity, and the higher the cognitive impulsivity, motor impulsivity and unplanned impulsivity. The experimental results of Study 2 showed that the Flanker task showed significant differences within the group. The response time and accuracy of the Flanker subjects were significantly different under the three conditions of consistent, neutral and inconsistent. The accuracy of the phone-dependent group was significantly lower than that of the nonphone-dependent group in inconsistent trials, indicating that the phone-dependent group had poor cognitive inhibition ability. In the stop-signal task, there was no significant difference in the response time of the two groups, and the accuracy of the stop-signal in the cell-phone dependent group was significantly lower than that in the non-cell-phone dependent group.According to the experimental results, the following conclusions can be drawn :(1)There is a significant positive correlation between mobile phone dependence and impulsivity and its three sub-dimensions.The higher the degree of mobile phone dependence, the higher the impulsivity.(2)In this study,no consistent results were observed in the impulsivity questionnaire study and the behavioral experiment of inhibitory control. The results of behavioral experiment showed that mobile phone dependence would affect the cognitive inhibition ability of junior high school students, and the difference of accuracy under inconsistent conditions was significant. The mobile phone dependence group had poor performance in controlling the irrelevant stimuli around.(3)The mobile phone dependence has an impact on the response inhibition ability of junior high school students. The response inhibition of the mobile phone dependence group is manifested as a worse performance in the correct rate of the stop signal, while the dependent group has a worse performance in the inhibition of the dominant response.
