| The rapid development of mobile Internet technology has built an efficient and convenient interactive space for the public,making mobile phones an indispensable basic configuration in people’s daily life.While bringing infinite convenience to life,news reports such as body function damage and traffic accident injury caused by excessive use of mobile phones is nothing new now.In recent years,more and more studies begin to pay attention to the related fields of mobile phone use,and the most research is college students’ mobile phone addiction behavior.College students are generally curious about new things,lack of self-control ability,and are more likely to have mobile phone addiction.Mobile phone addiction will have a negative impact on college students’ physiology,psychology,behavior and academic performance.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the influencing factors and mechanism of college students’ mobile phone addiction.Previous studies had focused on the close relationship between self-construal,fear of missing out and mobile phone addiction.Self-construal reflects the different ways in which individuals view their relationship with their surroundings.Different tendencies of self-construal will lead individuals to understand themselves by different reference systems.It is an important internal factor that affects the individual’s mobile phone use,which may be cause mobile phone addiction by extraversion path of mobile phone addiction behavior path model.In the information age,Fo MO is becoming more and more common.Interdependent self-construal may affect the individual’s mobile phone addiction behavior through a higher level of Fo MO.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies,this study further investigates the relationship among college students’ self-construal,mobile phone addiction and FOMO,and takes Fo MO as a mediating variable to test whether Fo MO has a mediating effect between self-construal and mobile phone addiction.This study is based on self-construal theory,mobile phone addiction behavior path model and uses and gratifications theory,and 326 college students were investigated with SCS,MPAI and Fo MOS.Through SPSS 23.0 and PROCESS 3.3plug-in statistical analysis of the collected data,to understand the status quo of college students’ self-construal,mobile phone addiction and Fo MO,analyze the influence of demographic variables on college students’ self-construal,mobile phone addiction and Fo MO,explore the relationship between college students’ self-construal and mobile phone addiction,and test the mediating role of Fo MO in it.The specific results are as follows:1)Most of the subjects are more inclined to interdependent self-construal.There are significant differences in demographic variables of college students’ self-construal.The self-construal index of male college students is significantly higher than that of female college students,and more male college students are interdependent self-construal.2)There are significant differences in demographic variables of mobile phone addiction among college students.The degree of mobile phone addiction of college students from rural areas is significantly higher than that from urban areas.3)There is a significant positive correlation between college students’ self-construal and Fo MO and mobile phone addiction;There is a significant positive correlation between college students’ Fo MO and mobile phone addiction.4)College students’ self-construal significantly positively predicts Fo MO,and has a direct impact on mobile phone addiction.5)College students’ Fo MO significantly positively predicts mobile phone addiction.6)College students’ Fo MO partially mediates the relationship between self-construal and mobile phone addiction. |
