Middle school students are in the critical period of life development,facing great changes in physical and mental aspects.At the same time,objective negative events such as test anxiety,the complexity of peer relationship,and the tension between teachers and students are also constantly affecting their psychology.Under the effect of such negative life events,it may affect their life satisfaction and reduce their happiness.Previous studies have shown that life events have an important impact on middle school students’ life satisfaction.In the process of individual development,the ability of self-regulation is also developing.Adolescence is the key period of individual intentional self-regulation.Middle school students can change their attitude to the external environment through their own purposeful self-regulation,so as to improve their life satisfaction.At the same time,the life events suffered by individuals will also affect their intentional self-regulation.This paper will study the influence of life events on middle school students’ life satisfaction through intentional self-regulation.In this study,966 adolescents aged 11-16 years(13.55 ± 1.15)were investigated with ASLEC,MSLSS and SOC.Independent sample t-test,correlation analysis,one-way ANOVA and process intermediate effect analysis were used for statistical analysis,and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)Life events,life satisfaction and intentional self-regulation of middle school students are different in different demographic variables;(2)Life events of middle school students are significantly correlated with life satisfaction and intentional self-regulation;(3)Life events and intentional self-regulation have significant effects on life satisfaction;(4)Intentional self-regulation mediates life events and life satisfaction.The educational suggestions of this study are as follows: 1.Democratic and open parenting style in family education and parents’ participation in students’ growth can improve students’ intentional self-regulation ability.2.Schools can provide courses related to mental health.Teachers should pay more attention to students and help them improve their self-regulation ability through the improvement of classroom teaching.3.Students can play their subjective initiative,overcome difficulties,achieve goals and promote their own development by setting reasonable goals,optimizing efforts strategies and actively adjusting goals.
