| With the introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the advancement of the internationalization of universities,more and more international students come to China for exchange studies and sojourn life.The management and teaching of international student education have attracted the attention in the research community.Among them,there are extensive researches on the educational quality and cultural adaptation of foreign students.When studying in a foreign country,the primary problem faced by international students is how to adapt to the heterogeneous culture.The current situation of the cultural adaptation of foreign students in China,what obstacles they face,and how to achieve the integration and symbiosis of their own culture and Chinese culture are all worthy of our attention and discussion.After reviewing the research on the cultural adaptation of international students in China,I found that the research community did not make much discussion on the content and requirements of international students’ adaptation to Chinese culture.Existing studies mostly skipped the Chinese culture itself and talked about cultural adaptation.Therefore,this thesis starts with the overview of the Chinese cultural adaptation of overseas students,discusses the connotation,characteristics and group representations of the Chinese cultural adaptation of overseas students,and analyzes the influencing factors of cultural adaptation.This article selects international students from Southwest University as an example.It starts from the theory of cross-cultural adaptation,combines theories of cultural stratification,cultural ecology,cultural interaction transmission,social distance,etc.,and uses mixed research methods.The actual situation and problems of the cultural adaptation of Chinese students were explored,the reasons hindering the Chinese cultural adaptation of foreign students were found,and the educational countermeasures to enhance the cultural adaptation of foreign students in China were explored.The study found that the current situation of the partial adaptation of the international students to the culture is: 1)basically identify with the system culture;2)integrate into the behavioral culture with a short distance;3)respect and understand the core spiritual culture;4)the superficial adaptation of the cultural interaction of language signs.The obstacles to cultural adaptation that it faces are: 1)Cognitive deviations in coping strategies;2)The differences between customs and religions and cultures are prominent;3)There are conflicts in some values;4)It is difficult to deepen the cultural interaction of language symbols.The obstacles to the cultural adaptation of the international students in China are caused by many factors.This article starts with the concept and reality and analyzes the reasons for the obstacles to the cultural adaptation of the international students in China,including the two dimensions of their own reasons and external reasons.The main reasons for itself are weak ecological and cultural concepts,lack of confidence in adaptation,and insufficient motivation to adapt.The external reasons are weak social support for adaptation,a single level of social interaction and interaction,the positive effects of the adapted group are not prominent,and the education and guidance of the adaptation process is not targeted.Among the internal and external reasons,the influence of education is multifaceted,and the role that education can play is also huge.This research proposes educational strategies to improve and enhance the Chinese cultural adaptation of foreign students.It can start from four aspects: adaptation subject,school education content,cultural adaptation process,and educational ecological environment: 1)To guide the adaptation subject to exert initiative,we can start from two aspects:cultivating the ecological cultural system view and strengthening the internal motivation of cultural adaptation;2)Consolidate the core influence of educational content,including enriching the cultural content of school opening education,increasing Chinese education and use;3)Improving the educational control of the dynamic process of adaptation,including grasping the critical period and dynamic process of cultural adaptation,and constructing multi-level cultural interaction Transmission;4)The construction of an educational ecological environment for cultural adaptation can be achieved through three aspects: the marginal effect of cultural adaptation groups,the consolidation of the educational synergy of cultural adaptation,and the creation of an adaptation situation for cultural symbiosis. |
