The Influence Of Collectivism On College Students’ Honesty

Collectivism is an important content of Marxist theory and a principle of socialist morality.It is a social value orientation that emphasizes the unity of the interests of the state,the collective and the individual,attaches importance to and protects the legitimate interests of the individual,and advocates that the individual interests are subordinate to the interests of the state and the collective,It is the values,strong faith and strong will formed by hundreds of millions of Chinese people under the leadership of the party to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Honesty refers to honesty and trustworthiness,that is to say and do in the process of social activities.Due to the impact of multiple values and the rapid development of market economy,college students’ Collectivism consciousness is weak,and dishonesty occurs from time to time.The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that we should promote the construction of faith and the institutionalization of voluntary service,and strengthen the awareness of social responsibility and dedication.At the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee,it was proposed that the socialist core values should be deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.At present,when the academic circles study the relationship between collectivism and honesty,there are positive and negative correlation views.Through the questionnaire survey,this study found that college students’ Collectivism tendency is higher,and the degree of integrity is better,but there is room for improvement.College students’ Collectivism tendency has significant differences in gender,major,grade,family rearing style,whether the only child or not,and college students’ honesty level has significant differences in gender,grade,family economic conditions and so on.In this study,the scores of collectivism tendency and honesty of college students are analyzed by correlation analysis and linear regression equation analysis.It is found that there is a significant positive correlation between collectivism tendency and integrity,and collectivism tendency has a positive predictive effect on integrity.In order to further study the relationship between collectivism and honesty,this study adopts the method of behavior experiment,and finds that there is a causal relationship between collectivism and integrity,and collectivism is one of the reasons that affect the level of College Students’ honesty.On the basis of empirical research,this study makes a theoretical analysis of the impact of collectivism on College Students’ integrity.The analysis not only explores the reasons for the positive impact from the isomorphism of value orientation and the homology of history and culture,but also explores the reasons for the inconsistency of research conclusions at home and abroad from the differences of researchers’ political positions and research tools.Based on the above empirical research and theoretical analysis,this study puts forward three educational inspirations to improve the level of College Students’ honesty: one is to strengthen collectivism education,the other is to adhere to the dialectical unity of collectivism education and integrity education,and the third is to strengthen the construction of factors influencing integrity from the perspective of collectivism.
