Construction And Empirical Evaluation Of Data Anxiety Scale For Graduate Students

The fourth paradigm of scientific research is the rise of data-intensive scientific paradigm,which makes data-intensive research methods become a trend.More and more researchers tend to use data information to support their scientific research.The precise performance of quantitative data overcomes the fuzziness of qualitative analysis to some extent and enhances its scientific research.Researchers in scientific research data collection,processing and utilization of data management process,due to various internal and external reasons,inevitably produce data information anxiety,which hindered the smooth progress of their scientific research.Therefore,this paper selects one of the important scientific research groups of university graduates as the research object.Using the qualitative research method of grounded theory,field interviews and related literature as data sources.Data analysis using open coding,spindle coding and selective coding.Combing out the initial categories including data retrieval expression,data retrieval approach,field research methods.and the main categories of scientific data collection,scientific data processing,scientific data analysis and utilization,and scientific data storage and sharing.Form the Initial Measurement Table of Graduate Students ’ Data Anxiety.The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis show that all the indexes of the scale meet the requirements.Final Construction of University Graduate Data Anxiety Scale.According to the final data anxiety scale,using online and offline questionnaires,a sample survey of graduate students at different levels in China.Empirical Evaluation of Graduate Students ’ Data Anxiety and Analysis of Specific Influencing Factors.the results showed that Graduate students ’ data anxiety exists in the whole process of scientific research data management,and the degree of anxiety is above medium.The degree of anxiety from high to low is data analysis and utilization anxiety,data processing anxiety,data collection anxiety,data storage and sharing anxiety.Subject factors such as understanding data by professional knowledge and object factors such as data operation are the main factors causing data anxiety.In previous interviews.It is also found that in the process of data management,it is more difficult to use software tools for data processing and professional knowledge for data analysis than data storage and sharing.Finally,countermeasures and suggestions to alleviate graduate students’ data anxiety are put forward from the three aspects of graduate students themselves,data environment and data literacy education,so as to provide empirical basis for improving graduate students ’ scientific research efficiency and data literacy education.
