| Attentional bias refers to the fact that individuals show high sensitivity to specific stimuli in the environment and are accompanied by biased attention choices.Being vigilant and avoiding negative stimuli is a way of human self-protection.However,if a person always oversensitive to small threats in life or often focuses his attention on negative stimuli,he may be in a negative emotional state for a long time.Bad attention bias patterns may be formed over time, which may lead to emotional problems such as anxiety and depression. On the contrary, the attentional bias towards positive stimulation can help people reduce stress and maintain physical and mental health.Emotional priming means that the individual processes a stimulus with a certain emotional valence, and the subsequent cognitive processing is also stained with the corresponding emotional color.Middle school students are in an "emotional storm",their emotions fluctuate greatly and are easily affected by external stimuli. Therefore, the current study choose ordinary middle school students as subjects, using emotional pictures in the international emotional picture database and face videos in the dynamic emotional face database of Chinese college students as experimental materials.Through two experiments, the differences in age of attention bias of middle school students are investigated. The current study also try to investigate the effect of emotional priming on the attention bias of middle school students. The current study aims to provide theoretical and practical basis for the mental health education of middle school students.Research 1 recruited 60 subjects in a middle school, using dynamic emotional face videos as experimental materials, and detection paradigm was used to obtain the behavioral data of subjects’ attentional bias towards dynamic emotional faces.E-prime3.0 was used to collect the correct rate and response time of the subjects. The results showed that:(1)The attention bias score of dynamic positive faces of high school students was significantly less than zero, that means they showed attention avoidance to positive faces.(2)The response time of the high school students was significantly shorter than that of the junior high school students.Study 2 added emotional pictures as the priming stimulus on the basis of Study 1.The results found that:(1)Under the positive priming condition, the reaction time of the junior high school students was significantly shorter than the reaction time under the negative priming condition.(2)The reaction time of the junior high school students to dynamic negative faces was significantly shorter than that of dynamic positive faces.(3)From the results of the attentional bias score, under the positive priming condition, the junior high school students did not show attentional bias for dynamic emotional faces, while the high school students’ attentional bias score for dynamic negative faces was significantly less than zero.(4)Under the condition of negative priming, the dynamic emotional face attention bias of the two groups of subjects has no significant difference.According to the current study findings,we have put forward relevant education suggestions, which mainly include the following three aspects.First, stimulate students’ positive emotional experience.Second, strengthen the emotional management strategy of middle school students.Third, introduce the emotional priming and attentional bias training procedures into the student mental health service system. |
