The “ Rural Construction Movement ” was a reformist movement initiated by intellectuals in the 1920 s and 1930 s with the countryside as experimental places.With the goal of “ Saving the countryside,Reconstructing the nation,Rejuvenating the country ”,the organizers carried out experiments in various regions,and helped the rural areas get rid of the plight and improve their vitality through the main means of education,so as to lay the foundation for the national rejuvenation.The “ Rural Construction Movement ” didn’t last long,and the attempts and material accumulation of various places were interrupted in the later period due to the invasion of the Japanese aggressors,but the new educational concepts and ideas formed and put into practice by organizers in this process condense into an important spiritual heritage for China after that.In the context of the current “ Rural Revitalization Strategy ”,if rural education wants to seize the opportunity and carry out a new round of reform and development,it also needs to go back to history and draw experience and nutrients from the “ Rural Construction Movement ”.Therefore,it is possible and necessary to study “ Educational heritage of ‘the Rural Construction Movement ’ ”.This research mainly uses the following research methods: the first is the literature research method.I collect and collate related journals and academic dissertations,works and historical historical materials.The second is the field investigation method.I went to Ding County for a site visit and collected a large number of materials reflecting the facts of the “ Rural Construction Movement ”.In addition,I visited Zhai Cheng Village and had a deep conversation with the local villagers.The third is the historical research method.With the help of the historical materials,I systematically,objectively and deeply analyzed,sorted out and elaborated the educational thoughts,theories and practical activities,and linked them with the reform and development of rural education under the current “ Rural Revitalization Strategy ”.My research is mainly divided into three parts:(1)The first part includes chapters 1 to 2.Chapter 1 is the introduction,and chapter 2 is the definition of the core concepts which defines the “ Rural Construction Movement ” and “ Educational Heritage ”.(2)The second part which includes chapters 3 to 5 is a concrete analysis and interpretation of “ Educational heritage of ‘ the Rural Construction Movement ’ ”.One of the heritage is “ organizers’ dream of saving the nation through education ”,in this chapter,I mainly discusses the emergence,the basic content,and the reasonable core of the “ dream of saving the nation through education ”.The second heritage is the “ Great Education ” which estabilished beyond the school education.In this chapter,firstly I analyze the unsustainable situation of the traditional school education at that time,then I clarify the measures taken during the establishment of “ great education ”,and finally I explain the reasonable core of “ great education ”.The third heritage is the new application of the academic thought-“ putting what is learned into practice ”.In this chapter,first of all,I introduce the traditional academic thought,then I clarify the concrete performance of the new academic thought-“ putting what is learned into practice ” in the “ Rural Construction Movement ”,finally I analyze its reasonable core.(3)The third part is chapter 6,summarizing the enlightenment of these educational heritage to the reform and development of rural education:first,expanding the goal of rural education;second,building a large rural education system;third,practicing the value orientation of serving agriculture,rural area,peasant and dealing with concrete issues.
