The Relationship Between Bullying Victimization,School Climate And School Satisfaction In Primary School Students:A Longitudinal Study | | Posted on:2022-08-15 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:X N Sun | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2507306728494964 | Subject:Psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | | | Objective:The latent growth model was used to explore the development trend of bullying victimization and school satisfaction among primary school students,and the cross lag path analysis was used to explore the delayed predictive effect between bullying victimization and school satisfaction.CLPM was used to analyze the cross-temporal mediating role of school climate among bullying victimization and school satisfaction.Methods:A total of 526 students in a primary school in Hunan Province were tracked for three consecutive times with each interval of three months by using the Delaware Bullying Victimization Scale(DBVS-S),Delaware School Climate Scale(DSCS-S)and School Satisfaction Scale(SSS).The survey data is analyzed by using SPSS25.0and MPLUS7.4.Results:(1)The incidence of bullying victimization among primary school students was 18.82%.(2)There is a significant difference in the bullying victimization scores of primary school pupils in terms of gender;However,there is a significant difference between school climate and school satisfaction score on family economic status.(3)The results of latent growth model show that the change rate of bullying victimization and school satisfaction of primary school students is negative.(4)There is a significant positive correlation between school climate and school satisfaction,and a significant negative correlation with bullying victimization.School satisfaction and bullying victimization have a significant negative correlation.(5)The results of cross-lag analysis showed that bullying victimization at T1 could negatively predict school satisfaction at T2,but other cross-lag paths were not significant.(6)The cross-lagged panel model shows that the specific mediating effect a1b2(X1→M2→Y3)is significant.Conclusion:The rate of bullying victimization among primary school students is higher;Primary school students’bullying victimization and school satisfaction will show a downward trend with the increase of time;The bullying victimization is an important predictor of the subsequent decrease in school satisfaction of primary school students;School climate plays a cross-temporal mediating effect between bullying victimization and school satisfaction,That is,bullying victimization can indirectly influence school satisfaction through perceived school climate,which has a lag effect. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Primary school students, Bullying victimization, school climate, school satisfaction, longitudinal study | | Related items |
