With the continuous deepening of basic education reform,the concept of sustainable development and deep learning has gradually emerged,and the development and training of children’s approaches to learning has received increasing attention.In the context of kindergarten education,children’s approaches to learning is more reflected in play.The block play is highly popular in kindergartens and has strong continuity,which not only provides children with opportunities to gain learning experience,but also contributes to the formation of approaches to learnin.However,at present,the development and evaluation of approaches to learning in block play has not attracted much attention,and the value of deep learning has not been better reflected.Therefore,this study evaluates children’s approaches to learning in block play.By observing the behaviors of children in block play,discover the approaches to learning hidden in it,in order to discover the deep value of play and promote deep learning in play.This study selects children in primary,middle and senior classes(N=90)in kindergartens as the research object.First,through combing the literature and expert evaluation,perfect and finalize the evaluation index system.Secondly,using video-assisted technology to observe and record children’s behavior in block play,and conduct semi-structured interviews with the children as a supplement to the observation record.Finally,through coding analysis and obtain the the results of children’s approaches to learning in block play.Research indicates:1.The performance of approaches to learning in block play is unbalanced,and there are significant differences in performance of approaches to learning in each dimension;2.There are different relationships between different approaches to learning in block play;3.With age,children’s approaches to learning in block play gradually develops,and the development speed of approaches to learning is different in different age groups;4.Both construction skills and play duration can predict the approaches to learning in block play.Based on the educational value of block play,this research suggests that when teachers use block play to cultivate children’s approaches to learning: rationally interpret approaches to learning,optimize training strategie of approaches to learning;improve children’s construction skills,and promote deep learning in play.
