| With the rise of the national fitness boom and the increasing demand for outdoor sports venues, the construction of urban sports parks has become a major trend. The construction of urban public space as a public carrier for sports activities has become an inevitable trend in the development of urban sports parks. This paper takes Wuhan’s first smart sports and fitness theme park,Zhang Zhidong Sports Park,as an example, and uses theories related to landscape communication as an entry point to analyse and explore the formation of the immersive "smart fitness" style of this sports park. The study also examines the communication practices of Zhang Zhidong Sports Park in the real space and media context.Firstly, from the perspective of the real space, this paper will explore the forms of landscape communication, namely the concrete images and material attributes of the landscape in four aspects: spatial layout, sports facilities, human landscape and service media, and explore the sports immersion that the real space strives to create;secondly, looking at the media field of functional media construction, this paper analyses and organises the two fields of mass media and social media, respectively,to explore how the media landscape can build a deep sports culture. At the same time, the paper summarises the "new landscape" shaped by the interweaving of the two media fields in Zhang Zhidong Sports Park, namely, strengthening the awareness of intelligent sports, expanding the immersive sports experience and perpetuating the memory of sports culture in Wuhan;finally, the research perspective turns to the spatial construction of the landscape communication in Zhang Zhidong Sports Park. Finally, the study turns to the spatial construction of Zhang Zhidong Sports Park’s landscape-based communication, summarising how Zhang Zhidong Sports Park has an impact on the cognition, behaviour and psychology of its recipients, and how the social relationships and activities in it produce landscape and cultural meaning,on three levels: the construction of sports and cultural space, urban sports and leisure space and social public space. In summary, the landscape-based communication of Zhang Zhidong Sports Park completes the communication practice of urban landscape as a medium and its production of symbolic and cultural meaning. Its successful experience brings enlightenment for us to think about the value of contemporary sports culture and the way of presenting the landscape, and at the same time makes up for the lack of relevant studies in the current academic field and provides a reference for other urban sports parks. |
