Conversational repair refers to the practice of dealing with problems or errors in listening,speaking and understanding in conversation.Children aged 3-6 are in a critical period of language development,and conversational repair is an important way for children to acquire language.A review of the researches on children’s conversational repair ability at home and abroad shows that the systematization and completeness of the research category of Chinese children’s conversational repair ability need to be improved.This study takes Chinese children aged 3-6 as the research object.Children at this stage have certain language skills,but they are still in the language learning stage.With the help of the International Children’s Corpus System(CHILDES),this paper explores the overall development of Chinese children’s conversation repair mode,conversation repair content,conversation repair type and speech action type in conversation repair in the mother-child interaction situation by combining quantitative and qualitative methods.The results show that:(1)Chinese children’s awareness of conversational repair is increasing with age;(2)Chinese children’s conversational repair ability shows the characteristics of developing from fast to slow;(3)Chinese children’s conversational repair types are closely related to children’s cognitive level;(4)Chinese children’s conversational repair speech forms are greatly influenced by adult language interaction.In view of the above findings,this study attempts to put forward corresponding educational suggestions for promoting the development of children’s conversational repair ability:(1)Promote the development of children’s cognitive ability,and improve children’s repair ability in a targeted way;(2)Pay attention to the stages of children’s repair development,and cultivate children’s repair awareness step by step;(3)Analyze the key factors of children’s repair development,and seize the opportunity to guide children to repair effectively;(4)Stimulate children’s enthusiasm for conversational repair,timely help and encourage children to self-repair.
