In this paper,trialkyl phosphites[P(OMe)3,P(OEt)3]and2-cyano-4'-bromomethylbiphenyl(Br-CH2-C6H4-C6H4-CN)and4-(Chloromethyl)tolunitrile(Cl-CH2-C6H4-CN)was used as raw material to synthesize three types of aromatic phosphonic acid ligands.Three ligands were constructed with transition metals and rare earth metals to obtain 15 complexes,under the hydrothermal reaction conditions.These complexes namely:[Cu(HL1)·3H2O]n(1),[Zn(L1)2]n·n H2O(2),[Cd(L1)2]n·n H2O(3),[Zn(L2)]n(4),[Cu5(L31)3]n(5);[Sm2(HL1)4·2(H2O)]n(6),[Ln(HL2)(H2L2)·(H2O)]n[Ln=La(7),Ce(8),Pr(9),Nd(10),Sm(11),Eu(12),Gd(13),Tb(14),La0.59Eu0.12Tb0.29(15)][H2L1=CN-C6H4-C6H4-CH2-PO(OH)2,H3L2=HOOC-C6H4-C6H4-CH2-PO(OH)2,H3L31=HOOC-C6H4-CH2-PO(OH)2].Their structures were first detected by single crystal X-ray diffraction and further characterized by elemental analysis,IR,TGA and X-ray single crystal/powder diffraction.The different functional groups of involved in the coordination results in the structural diversity.Since cyano groups do not participate in coordination,complex 1 is zero-dimensional(0D)structure,complexes 2,3,and 6 are a one-dimensional chain structure.The participation of carboxyl groups in coordination leads to the complex structure of complexes.Complex 4 is a two-dimensional(2D)network and complex 5 is three-dimensional(3D)framework.The complexes 7-15 are isomorphic 2D layered structures,and can form a 3D structure through hydrogen bonding.The emphasis is on the investigation of the luminescent properties of these complexes.Complex 1 has catalytic activity as a catalyst for the degradation of methylene blue.Fluorescence quenching of complex 2 with Fe3+ions.Complex 2demonstrated much higher selectivity and sensitivity toward Fe3+ions.Luminescences show that complexes 7?8 and 13 exhibit ligand-centered blue light emission and 12?14display Ln-centered red,green luminescence,respectively.By carefully adjusted the relative concentrations of lanthanide(La,Eu and Tb cations),it is possible to design and prepare mixed lanthanide complexes 15 which exhibiting white light emission.Complexes 1,13 and 14 also demonstrate magnetic properties.
