The presence of mercury and mercuric compounds in gas condensate can corrode equipment and pipelines,compromise the quality of oil products,poison the catalyst,jeopardize the health of the operators and pollute environment.To solve these problems,the most fundamental method is to removal mercury in gas condensate from the source.At present,the research on mercury removal from gas condensate is mainly on abroad,and the common mercury removal process is mainly chemical adsorption.There is a little research on adsorbent for mercury removal from gas condensate in China.And the adsorbent is mainly relying on importing and it's very expensive.Therefore,it is very important to develop a adsorbent for mercury removal from gas condensate with strong adaptability,high efficiency and reasonable price.In this paper,the mercury removal principle,characteristics and application of the processes of mercury removal from gas condensate are analyzed.The mercury removal agents used in the chemical adsorption process are studied.The adsorbent supported metal sulfides can mainly remove elemental mercury with considerably weak adsorption ability for organic mercury and ionic mercury,and the presence of organic mercury will reduce the adsorption performance.The molecular sieve supported silver can be recycled and reused,but only the elemental mercury can be removed with the high energy.The adsorbent supported metal halides can remove elemental mercury,ionic mercury and organic mercury,minimize the concentration of mercury in gas condensate and reduce the hazard of mercury.This paper mainly develops a mercury removal agent supported metal halide for high mercury-containing condensate.Based on studying the mechanism of mercury removal agent supported metal halides,a mercury removal agent supported metal halides of LH type was prepared with activated carbon as carrier,potassium iodide as active material and copper-based compounds or metal oxides as auxiliary active components by equal volume adsorption method.An activated carbon carrier is preferred with iodine value of more than 1500mg/g,water capacity of more than 90%,water content of less than 2%,and strength of more than 85%.The adsorbents supported metal halides of LH type have the following composition:potassium iodide content of 50%?80%,auxiliary active component of 0.5%?10%,activated carbon content of 15%?50%.And they were characterized.A performance evaluation device for mercury removal agents for ags condensate was established,which can evaluate more than two mercury removal agents with mercury removal efficiency under working conditions of the different feed flows and the mercury content,performance stability and mercury adsorption capacity.By changing the feed flows,it was found that the efficiency of mercury removal was increasing with the contact time increasing.By changing the mercury content,it was found that the four mercury removal agents showed good mercury removal effects under working conditions of both high and low mercury content.The LH-C type mercury removal agent showed he best mercury removal effect,stable mercury removal performance and the largest mercury adsorption capacity with activated carbon as carrier,potassium iodide as active material and auxiliary active components.According to the gas condensate in D gas field with the high content mercury and various forms of mercury,a mercury removal process of gas stripping-chemical adsorption was proposed.And the equipment desigh of mercury removal tower for condensate,stripping tower,mercury removal tower for natural gas,liquid-liquid coalescers and gas-liquid coalescers was completed.The mercury removal agent supported metal halide of LH-C type was choosed for condensate to reduce the mercury concentration in condensate as much as possible with the concentration of below 50?g/L.And the loading and unloading requirements for adsorbent and treatment for expired mercury removal agent are analyzed.In general,the LH-C adsorbent supported halides developed in this paper shows a good mercury removal performance and economy,and has a good industrial application prospect.
