Energy is the material foundation for social development in all fields.And the way of energy supply has an imperceptible and unobtrusive influence on society in addition to affecting the normal and rapid running of production and living.Fuel cell is an efficient,and clean power generate technology that is proven in researches.Cooling of fuel cell has become a significant composition in the study of fuel cell thermal management.At first,a gravity-type flat plate heat pipe heat exchanger was designed and developed as an experimental facility.On this basis,a fuel cell heat production simulation device and a heat pipe circulation system were built for conducting simulation experiments on fuel cell cooling.Through experiments,the heat exchange capability of the heat pipe system and temperature variation on the evaporator surface were studied under the arrangement of the vertical in-out evaporator and out-the-front evaporator during operation.For the vertical in-out evaporator:the heat pipe system is not recommended for heat dissipation since phase change of effective evaporation is not generated when the density of heat flow is less than 222W/m~2.In addition,placing the evaporator at the inclination angle of45°is most conducive to lowering the surface temperature of the evaporator when the density of heat flow is greater than 444W/m~2.With the increase of input power,the evaporator first discharge stream in a steady form and then gradually in the pulsation form.At last,it resumes to discharge stream in a steady form with the increase of the pulsation frequency and the reduction of the pulsation amplitude.When the density of heat flux is greater than 444W/m2 and less than 1111W/m~2,the temperature will be fluctuated during the stable operation of heat pipe.When the heat flux density is greater than 1111W/m~2 and less than 1333.2W/m~2,the temperature will be fluctuated maximally.And when the density of heat flux is greater than 1333.3W/m~2 and less than 2222.2W/m~2,the temperature will be less fluctuated,and reaching stabilized.For the out-the-front evaporator:The best heat transfer effect can be witnessed when the evaporator is placed at the inclination angle between 0°and 30°.When the inclination angle is large,the heat transfer effect will be lowered.Nevertheless,the heat transfer capability of the evaporator placed at the inclination angle of 0°is lower than that of the small inclination angle experiment group.
