Traditional manufacturing was once an important force in China's economic development and has made outstanding contributions to Chinese economic development. However, nowadays, due to changes in the external environment and industrial structure adjustments, development has encountered resistance and faced a new round of technological and industrial revolutions. Some established manufacturing companies try to actively seek resource allocation and achieve strategic transformation through mergers and acquisitions of outstanding assets within the industry chain. Some companies enter the current emerging hot industries through cross-border integration and embark on a road of diversified development.Whether this road is feasible is the focus of our attention. The purpose of cross-industry integration is to obtain new vitality and new competitiveness, and improve the operating efficiency of enterprises. However, different enterprises are affected by their own development and the reasons for choosing are not the same.Through in-depth discussions on the integration behavior of micro-cases,To measure the success of integration through integration performance reflects a certain practical significance. This article selects Qingdao Haili Meida Co.,Ltd.(Qingdao Haili)as the case study object to analyze the behavior and performance of Qingdao Haili's cross-border integration Beijing Liandong Technology Co.,Ltd.(Liandong Technology).Qingdao Haili is a traditional manufacturing enterprise whose main products have occupied a certain market share for a long time. However, the rapid changes in the market have encountered bottlenecks in the development of the enterprise. This is also a predicament faced by most manufacturing enterprises.New products with huge potential and policy support.Traditional enterprises enter emerging markets through cross-border integration, which is an effective way to adapt to market changes.Based on the theory of M&A motivations and combining traditional companies entering emerging markets through cross-border integration, this paper studies and analyzes the motivations of Qingdao Haili's integration behavior, and uses performance evaluation methods to compare the performance before and after the integration based on whether the motivation is realized. The case evaluation has drawn corresponding enlightenment, hoping to provide ideas for traditional manufacturing enterprises to cross-border integration into the new market, break industry barriers, and create value. The research of this article draws two conclusions.First,Qingdao Haili chose cross-border integration because the development of the original industry is hindered, and strives to track the market to obtain new profit growth points, quickly integrate and cut into the Internet market, and form a "manufacturing + Internet" "The two-wheel drive business model basically realizes the motivation from the perspective of performance;second, the company's cross-border behavior must not only conform to the development strategy, but also comprehensively consider policies and industry life cycles to create value for the sustainable development of the company.
