The performance of automatic generation control(AGC)of hydropower plant greatly affects the effect of AGC in power system.With the AGC monitoring system put into operation,the active power regulation control mode of hydropower plant is more perfect,flexible and effective.However,new problems such as frequent regulation of hydropower units,repeated crossing of vibration area,runner cracks and serious cavitation are brought.At present,the governor system of large and medium-sized hydropower plants mostly adopts the opening control mode,which is not easy to realize the accurate control of active power.However,the power mode has not been widely used in large areas,and the research on relevant control strategies is still less.Therefore,it is necessary to study the optimization of the active power control strategy in the power mode of the governor system,and to cooperate with the AGC control strategy of the monitoring system.At the same time,it is necessary to further broaden the thinking and explore ways to improve the performance of hydropower units,so as to fundamentally improve the performance of active power regulation.Firstly,this paper introduces the research background of the project,summarizes the development process of automatic generation control at home and abroad,and puts forward the common problems of automatic generation control of hydropower plants and the research ideas of the project.Secondly,the basic principle and model of AGC in hydropower plant are studied and analyzed.The PID model of governor system is analyzed.The opening mode and power mode of governor are introduced and compared.Combined with the practice of Tian Sheng Qiao-? hydropower plant,this paper analyzes the causes of poor AGC performance in hydropower plants,and further expounds the problems to be solved.Thirdly,on the basis of data analysis,scientific research and field test verification,the scheme of AGC control strategy optimization,unit active power control mode and strategy optimization is proposed.Combined with the engineering practice of Tian Sheng Qiao-? hydropower plant,the improvement and optimization results of AGC control strategy of monitoring system are analyzed and summarized.This paper focuses on the adjustment of active power control mode and the optimization scheme of control strategy.Among them,the active power feedback filter processing,variable dead zone control in the process of active power regulation,and variable integral control of unit through vibration zone are verified to be effective by field test,and the unit's active power regulation performance is greatly improved.Through field test and analysis,the governor system is modeled and verified to be effective by Simulink simulation.Finally,combined with the current technical level and the development trend of the power market,the feasibility of widening the stable operation area of the unit to further improve the regulation performance of the unit is discussed.This paper provides a reference scheme for automatic generation control performance optimization of hydropower plants.The research results of this paper have guiding significance for improving the active power regulation performance of hydropower units,and are conducive to improving the safe and stable operation level of hydropower units.
