Wave glider is a wave-driven surface vehicle capable of long-term operation.With the continuous development of the wave glider technology,the wave glider's application field has been expanded,including scientific research,commercial application and military application.Hydrofoil is a key component to determine the capability of wave power conversions and it directly determines the navigation performance of the wave glider.Traditional hydrofoil is rigid which has the disadvantages of complex structure,realiable cost and poor long-term reliability.Therefore,solving the problems of traditional hydrofoil is of great significance for the wave glider to complete more complex ocean observation tasks.To solve these problems,flexible hydrofoil of the wave glider is researched in this paper,and the following research work has been finished.Firstly,the propulsion principle of flexible hydrofoil is introduced,and geometric modeling and kinematic modeling are carried out.The dynamic parameters involved in the analysis of the follow-up wing are given,and the basic knowledge of the simulation software is briefly introduced.Secondly,according to the working principle of the flexible hydrofoil,a numerical simulation model is established,and the propulsion of the flexible hydrofoil under different motion parameters is simulated.The stress characteristics and power characteristics of the flexible hydrofoil under different sea conditions,wave height,wave period and pitch disturbance are analyzed emphatically,so as to obtain the influence law of the motion parameters on the propulsion performance of the flexible hydrofoil and draw the corresponding conclusions.Thirdly,the numerical simulation models of single wing and tandem wing are established,and the propulsion of flexible hydrofoil under different wing parameters is simulated.The effects of trailing edge flexibility coefficient,airfoil to single wing and wing spacing on the mechanical and power characteristics of tandem wing are analyzed emphatically,and the optimal trailing edge flexibility coefficient and wing spacing under three-level sea conditions are obtained.Finally,the effectiveness of the numerical simulation is verified by pool experiments.The effects of sea state level,wave height and flexibility coefficient on the thrust characteristics of flexible hydrofoil are emphatically verified.The experimental results show the numerical simulation is correct and valid.The search can provide theoretical basis and reference for the design of of the wave glider flexible hydrofoil.
