| With the development of globalization,"cross-border" has become an important strategic choice for enterprises. After cross-border development, some companies have even subverted the traditional operation mode of cross-border industries. There are existing researches on the internal motivations of companies’ cross-border operations.More sufficient, but there is a lack of research on the process of companies implementing cross-border disruptive innovation. This research uses a longitudinal case analysis of BYD’s cross-border process to enter the automotive industry, and constructs a path for cross-border disruptive innovation, dynamic capabilities, and corporate performance. The analysis shows that the enterprise’s cross-border disruptive innovation has the following three stages: knowledge internalization stage, organizational boundary crossing stage, and subversion stage. In the stage of knowledge internalization, companies identify cross-border industries through opportunity perception capabilities, and absorb heterogeneous knowledge mainly based on organizational learning capabilities, and then use resource reconstruction capabilities to promote technological innovation. In the phase of organizational boundary crossing, the focus of enterprises is to identify market opportunities in a timely manner through opportunity perception capabilities to further increase market share.Organizational learning capabilities at this stage promote product performance enhancement, and resource reconstruction capabilities promote the formation of internal transactions within the enterprise. In the subversion stage, opportunity awareness promotes the enterprise’s control over production capacity and uses organizational learning capabilities to establish technical barriers. This stage mainly uses resource reconstruction capabilities to enhance the efficiency of resource allocation among multiple industries, and establish cost advantages to enhance competitiveness. This article uses longitudinal case analysis to deeply explore the influence path of cross-border disruptive innovation, dynamic capabilities and corporate performance, and further supplements the theory of disruptive innovation, which has guiding significance for the cross-border operation of enterprises. |
