With the improvement of modern living standards,people have put forward higher demands for passenger car ride comfort and safety.As an important component of passenger car suspension systems,air springs are widely used due to their good nonlinear characteristics.However,the air springs currently in use adjust their stiffness through additional air chambers.During the adjustment process,it is difficult to adjust to the optimal stiffness position,the installation space of the additional air chamber is large,and the passenger comfort experience is not good.These factors are have a great impact on the performance and application of the air spring.Therefore,the comprehensive evaluation and improvement of the performance of the air spring is of great significance and practical application value.The atmospheric rolling lobe air spring adjusts the nonlinear performance of the air spring by changing its volume.This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis and research on the problems of poor vibration damping performance of a certain type of atmospheric membrane air spring for passenger cars,large installation space requirements,and poor passenger comfort experience.Through the establishment of the atmospheric rolling lobe air spring model,based on the relevant theoretical knowledge of thermodynamics and rubber air springs,the use of finite element method,new semi-analytical method and modal analysis research methods,combined with the Abaqus Standard/Explicit simulation software to analyze the atmospheric rolling lobe air spring.The stiffness characteristics of the air spring under different cord parameters and different loading pressures of Rebar have been studied in depth.By applying different amplitudes,different loading frequencies and loading pressures to the atmospheric rolling lobe air spring model,the system dynamic analysis was carried out,and comprehensive analysis of various performance indicators was launched.On this basis,a diaphragm air spring model with 1/2 volume air chamber,2volume air chamber and no air chamber volume was built,and the performance of each volume air rolling lobe air spring was compared and analyzed.The results show that the atmospheric rolling lobe air spring has better load-bearing performance and stiffness characteristics when the initial pressure is 0.5 MPa,the number of cord layers is 2 layers,the cord spacing is 5 mm,and the cord angle is 45 degrees.Compared with the diaphragm air spring of the volume air chamber,the atmospheric rolling lobe air spring has a good stiffness adjustment range near its design height,which better meets the performance of the vehicle under different working conditions.This research can provide theoretical help for the subsequent research of atmospheric rolling lobe air springs.
