In the globalization process,cultural tourism with cultural tourism industry as the orientation is developing rapidly,starting the era of great tourism.The rapid development of tourism and the rise of cultural and creative industries promoted tourist souvenirs into the field of mass consumers.In this paper,the central position of the place spirit in the design of tourist souvenirs was revealed by explaining the theoretical concept of place spirit,discussing the cultural identity and psychological empathy brought by tourist souvenirs and interpreting the design methods of tourist souvenirs.Furthermore,the chaos in the design of tourist souvenirs was analyzed,the design methods on the development of tourism souvenirs were interpreted from different types of tourist places,and the cultural orientation of tourism souvenirs was promoted to improve economic and social benefits and serve as a reference to the design at the same time.The design approaches and methods of combining the place spirit and cultural tourism resources in a multiplex angle of view were explored to let tourism souvenirs promote tourism industry and enhance the accessory value of souvenirs design.
