Background:Ovarian cancer is called "silent killer".Because of its difficulty in early diagnosis,mo st patients are diagnosed as stage ?-?,and the mortality rate ranks first among gyne cological malignancies, which poses a serious threat to women's life and health.Surge ry combined chemotherapy is the most important and effective method for the treatme nt of ovarian cancer. The first-line chemotherapy regimen for ovarian cancer is paclita xel combined with platinum chemotherapy, which recommended by the International F ederation of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Cancer Center is paclitaxel combined with platinum chemotherapy, has achieved good therapeutic effect in clinic. However, chem otherapy can bring a series of toxic side effects, such as bone marrow suppression,ga strointestinal reaction, liver and kidney function damage, which seriously affect the the rapeutic effect and quality of life of patients. Therefore,it is very important to find a combined regimen to improve the survival time and prognosis of ovarian cancer patie nts.Traditional Chinese medicine plays an important role in inhibiting tumor growth, metastasis, reducing toxic side effects and improving immunity, and has become a co mmon combined drug in the treatment of ovarian cancer.Chinese herbal injection is a modern product of theory and practice of traditional Chinese medicine. It has the cha racteristics of rapid action, high bioavailability and good curative effect. There have be en many clinical studies on the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer with Chinese he rbal injection combined with chemotherapy, however, there is still a lack of evidence-b ased research in many aspects. This study sought to use a meta-analysis to assess the effectiveness and safety of Chinese herbal injections(CHIs)combined with the chem otherapy for the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer. Methods:Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)regarding CHIs to treat advanced ovarian cancer were searched in PubMed,the Cochrane library,Embase, the China National Knowled ge Infrastructure Database(CNKI),the Wan-Fang Database, the Chinese Scientific Jour nals Full-text Database(VIP),and the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(SinoM ed)up to March 2021.The quality assessment was conducted by the Cochrane risk of bias tool and meta-analysis was performed to asses the effectiveness and safety of di fferent CHIs combined with the chemotherapy.Data were analyzed using RevMan 5.3 software. Results:A total of 900 records were searched, and eventually 53 RCTs containing 3778 patient s and 10 CHIs were included. The results showed that 10 kinds of Chinese herbal inj ections include 15 items of Kang Ai injection,18 items of Eddie injection,7 items of compound Sophora flavescens injection,4 items of Shenqi Fuzheng injection,3 items of Shenmai injection,2 items of toad crisp injection,2 items of cinnamic injectionl item of Astragalus injection,1 item of Brucea javanica oil emulsion injection and 1 it em of Xiaoaiping injection. Conclusions:The results of the meta-analysis demonstrated that Chinese herbal injection combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer in the near future effe ctive rate, quality of life, immune function, leukocyte decline rate, nausea and vomitin g rate have a positive effect.
