French sculptor Luo Dan said,"art is emotion." Emotion refers to the psychological reactions produced by external stimuli, such as joy, anger, sadness, fear, love and hatred.Art originates from life and originates from artists' emotions. The artist internalized his life experience and expressed it through the external form of painting. Therefore, emotion has a special significance to the works of art, that is,the source of creation, but also the soul of the work, but also reflects the aesthetic value of works of art.And this significance is very good in Western painting.Van Gogh,a master of post-impressionism,has a strong artistic style of subjective emotional expression, which reflects strong emotional expression from his brushwork, painting modeling, color and so on.Therefore, his emotional world has a direct impact on his artistic creation. These emotions determine the brush strokes, shapes and colors of his paintings, and these painting elements serve his emotional expression.A prominent feature of Van Gogh's paintings is his strong expression of his subjective feelings. Some people say that his paintings are all self portraits. He was a pioneer of expressionism and deeply influenced the art of the twentieth century, especially the Beasts and Expressionism. And Master Van Gogh, for me,has always been the beacon in my painting career, deeply affecting my theoretical study and creative practice,I will strive to integrate their subjective feelings into my paintings, and will strive to get out of their own painting style.
