Ryunosuke Akutagawa took sleeping pills to commit suicide at Tabata's house on July 24,1927,and caused a great sensation. The world regretted the early death of the literary ghost Akutagawa.Akutagawa expressed his "uneasy uneasiness" in "Letter to Friends".At that time, the social environment, the living environment, and the pursuit of art and other parties had some influence on Akutagawa's suicide.I think that the underlying cause of Ryunosuke Akutagawa's suicide is his tragic consciousness.During his childhood,Akutagawa realized the particularity of his family and growing environment, and his growth experience made him realize the tragic nature of his living conditions earlier.Tragic consciousness arises from the living situation produced by the pursuit of survival and development.Akutagawa's special living situation promoted the development of tragic consciousness. This article is divided into four chapters, from the four aspects of Akutagawa's own experience, the unique expression of tragedy consciousness in "HAGURUMA",Akutagawa's care to society and the impact of tragic consciousness on his suicide. After analyzing the source of Akutagawa's tragic consciousness, combed how Akutagawa's tragic consciousness is reflected in his works and social life, and derived the development of Akutagawa's death consciousness based on Akutagawa's description of death, satire on society, and the pursuit of art,and the reason of suicide. The first chapter, based on "First Half of Daidoujishinnnosuke's Life " and "Life of a Fool",analyzes the source of tragic consciousness based on the truth described in autobiographical works.First of all,in the early period of Ryunosuke Akutagawa, the family growth environment had a great influence on the formation of Akutagawa's character and thinking mode. After marriage, physical illnesses such as hemorrhoids, neurasthenia, and signing a news agency to become a full-time writer forced Akutagawa into a more difficult situation.Emotionally plagued Hideshigeko's entanglement, living in the mad fear of hereditary mothers, resulting in great psychological pressure. The second chapter analyzes the images in "HAGURUMA".The meaning symbolized by the images is the expression of Akutagawa's tragic consciousness. The three images frequently appear in the late work "HAGURUMA" : raincoat,Haguruma and red light analyze the gradual change from gloomy, restless to near death. The strong gloomy atmosphere in the work is horrifying, the thought of Akutagawa is felt through the words of Akutagawa. The third chapter, the social background of the Meiji and Taishou eras greatly influenced Akutagawa 's creation.Because of Akutagawa 's keenness and his desire for society, have a negative aspect to his character and form a cold-hearted attitude towards the world.Feelings of dissatisfaction and helplessness towards society are vented in the works, such as the satire on egoism and the yearning for socialism in Kappa.Although dissatisfy with society,Akutagawa did not show the courage to resist, and the contradiction between the dissatisfaction and the behavior of no resistance deepened Akutagawa's pain.In Chapter four,Akutagawa referred to his literature as unsuccessful literature, but it is actually highly praised."unsuccessful" is the defeat of Akutagawa's life, that is,suicide, but it is a great success in literature.Miyamoto's thesis "unsuccessful Literature" evaluated the late works from a unique perspective of proletarian writers, affirming the social value of Akutagawa's late works.Due to multiple tortures,Akutagawa's life also gradually died, and suicidal intentions appeared in later works.Although Akutagawa resisted his tragic fate with his own strength, the strong fate made it difficult to reverse, and eventually inevitably went to a ruined end.It can be said that tragic consciousness is the underlying cause of Akutagawa's suicide.
