Style is the highest category and the highest embodiment of stylistics, and it is also a sign that a writer's writing is becoming mature. For a long time, the study of writers'writing styles in academia and literary criticism has been carried out through the way of careful reading of texts, focusing on purely theoretical analysis or perceptual aesthetic analysis, and lack of quantitative research using data analysis.Digital humanities is a concept that has emerged in recent years, and it is also a new research method that uses digital technology to study humanistic phenomena. It mainly uses the calculation method to analyze the humanities and social sciences. This paper introduces quantitative analysis methods and uses computer programs to statistically analyze Mo Yan's and Jia Pingwa's novels in an attempt to more objectively recognize and compare the writing styles of the two writers, and to more intuitively present the style differences in the works of the two writers. In the first chapter of this paper, seven novels, each of which is Mo Yan and Jia Pingwa, are selected, and a corpus of works is established through data cleaning, word segmentation,part-of-speech tagging, and manual inspection. The second chapter analyzes text readability, text conformity, text rhythm, and text fragmentation. It is found that Mo Yan's works are relatively obscure, with low readability and difficulty in understanding the texts;Jia Pingwa's works have a good reading experience, high readability of texts, and the language of the novel is rich in rhythm;Jia Pingwa shows his conscious pursuit of the classical narrative tradition in China.Showing acceptance and conscious transformation of Western literary ideas;Mo Yan's works are richer in terms of words, feelings are more stable, calm, and objective, showing a bold tone, and Jia Pingwa shows stable words and rich feelings, and his style is more Mo Yan's works are more dramatic and easier to be adapted by film and television;Mo Yan's novels have fewer pauses and are more written, and Jia Pingwa's novels create a spoken narrative atmosphere through a large number of sentence breaks. The third chapter analyzes the richness of vocabulary,high-frequency words, function words, and punctuation in Mo Yan and Jia Pingwa's works. It finds that Mo Yan's richer vocabulary and Jia Pingwa's use of ancient vernacular narrative characteristics. The novelist's common caring and unique writing characteristics, such as Mo Yan's exploration of family and human nature and Jia Pingwa's full exploration of imagery;found in the part of speech that Mo Yan prefers to describe the environment and create an atmosphere through a large number of adjectives. The work is more deeply involved, and Jia Pingwa is used to using action to connect plots and promote story development;and through rank sum test,he compares Mo Yan and Jia Pingwa's use of 25 empty words such as talent,no,all, very,re,maybe, and so on.The large differences indicate that Jia Pingwa's novels are closer to the characteristics of ancient vernacular. In the fourth chapter, through the punctuation clustering based on Euclidean distance, the part-of-speech clustering based on Pearson similarity, and the k-means clustering based on the use of function words,we find that in the novels of Mo Yan and Jia Pingwa, the function words, punctuation and parts of speech Both show great differences, and the two writers' own series of novels show a more consistent style, forming a unique creative habit.Through a sentiment dictionary-based sentiment calculation,a comparative analysis of Mo Yan's“Breasts and Fat”and Jia Pingwa's“The Essence of The Mountain”shows that Mo Yan's narrative rhythm is faster and more intense, while Jia Pingwa's plot arrangement accumulates more violent emotional orgasms. In the shaping of characters,Jia Pingwa's bias towards characters is more obvious, and Mo Yan's feelings for the characters in the pen are more complicated. The two different narrative styles have brought about their own unique writing styles, which in turn constituted the reader's unique reading experience. Finally, this article summarizes the comparison between digital humanistic methods in Mo Yan and Jia Pingwa's works, and reflects on the prospects and dilemmas for the application of digital humanistic methods.
