With the continuous development of social modernization, more and more problems have appeared in the field of morality. The moral dilemma of modernity is a moral issue that cannot be ignored in our time. The spread of modern western culture and the rise of individualism have formed a social atmosphere in which people close themselves and self-indulge.The deterioration of the relationship between human and nature, human and human(society),human and self, and even human and Al caused by individualism in modern society has formed the moral dilemma of modernity. The deterioration of the relationship between human and nature has led to a moral situation where people and other lives are in dilemma;the alienation of the relationship between human and human(society)has led to the loss of identity and belonging, and loneliness and nothingness are full of group and society;the separation of the relationship between human and self has led to the separation of self and morality, self and role, and life has no meaning;the emergence of the relationship between human and AI has led to the dilemma of moral care and moral responsibility. In any relationship, the self is the most important and basic core, and self-identity is the source of the subjectivity problem. This article attempts to analyze the specific content of the moral dilemma of modernity and the constituent elements of "self-identity",and to deeply consider and explore the core cause of the moral dilemma of modernity, the weakening of self-ethical identity, with a view to the morality of modernity. The problem provides a solution at the source. The first chapter of this article expounds the reasons for the study of the weakening of self-ethical identity, the current status of research on "self-identity" thought at home and abroad, and the research methods and innovations of difficult points;the second chapter of this article expounds the meaning of moral dilemma and modern morality Difficult specific moral problems under the deterioration of various relationships between human and nature, humans and human(society),human and self, and even human and AI.Analyze and understand that the moral dilemmas of modernity are all human-centered and root causes. It should be found in humans,so that the root cause of the moral dilemma of modernity is the weakening of self-moral identity. The third chapter of this article is based on the "self-identity" view of Charles Taylor using modern historical narrative approach and attitude. The research elaborated, analyzing the background of the formation of "self" as an "inescapable framework".The characteristics of "self" formation are language expression, narrative relationship and vision of goodness. It also combs the evolution of the philosophy history of the concept of "identity".The formation of Charles Taylor's "modern identity" summarizes the discuccion of "self".The question of how a weakened moral identity is formed lays the conceptual foundation. Then enters the subject and studies the internal and external causes of the weakening of self-ethical identity. It is considered that the external causes of the weakening of self-ethical identity are the uncertainty of the framework and the fragmentation of the moral context. The uncertain framework makes people distrust it,and people feel that there is no moral standard that can restrain themselves,so they choose a "selfish" life form, which makes people disagree with themselves. The inner morality also leads to the disorder of social moral norms. The broken moral context makes "morality" itself lose its complete authority. Each point of view in the society is only self-consistent in its own logic, which reflects the self-choice choice in the absence of a complete moral context-no morality required Logical identification of context. It embodies a person's immoral identity to himself. The internal reason for the weakening of self-moral identity is being blinded by self-morality.Originally,people had to build relationships with others based on their inner moral sense. However, due to the proliferation of various "harm others for self-interest" moral phenomena in modern society,it makes people worry about being harmed by obeying their inner morals in the process of constructing relationships, thus blinding their moral sense.Chapter four of this paper proposes three solutions to the problem of weakening self-ethical identity. The first is to reflect on self and restore the true moral contact with itself;the second is to try to find certainty in uncertainty;the third is to build a good moral environment. It is hoped that these solutions can help people identify with their inner moral sense, and work together with individuals and groups,as well as social managers to solve the problem of weakening self-ethical identity, and then help resolve the moral dilemma of modernity and guide the harmonious development of society.
