Jewish Territorial Organization Studies

The Jewish Territorial Organization was founded in 1905 by some Zionists who wanted to build new Jewish settlements outside Palestine in order to help Jews in eastern Europe out of their present plight.This article is a study on this organization.The main content of this paper is divided into three chapters:The first chapter mainly discusses the cause,process and organization of the Jewish Territorial Organization.The foundation of the Jewish Territorial Organization has a complex background.The article shows that the Jewish Territorial Organization was founded in 1905 under the influence of a new wave of anti-semitism in eastern Europe,the repeated setbacks of the Zionist organization's plan to resettle Jews,and the different ideas of Israel Zangwill and others on the Jewish settlement.The group set up its activities aim at the beginning of "on the basis of autonomy for those who cannot or will not stay at their current residence of the Jews for a piece of territory",in addition,the group has also established a hierarchical organization,such as,international council,the local council and dispersed in Jewish settlements in the branches,and so on.The second chapter focuses on the main activities of Jewish Territorial Organizations.This chapter elaborates the main activities of the Jewish Territorial Organization during its establishment from the three aspects of winning the support of the Jews.helping the eastern European Jews to emigrate,and finding new settlements for the Jews,so as to highlight its efforts to solve the existing Jewish problems and highlight its unique value.The third chapter analyzes the reasons for the dissolution of Jewish Territorial Organizations and its historical significance.Jewish Territory Organization in the pursuit of "territorial autonomy" for its dissolution of buried the curse,Jews to the holy land of deep-seated desire makes Jewish Territorial organization lost the appeal of the Jews after the situation has improved in eastern European,"Balfour declaration" issued in 1917 is a fatal blow to Jewish Territory Organization,Zangwill was frustrated after tried efforts but without result,and the disintegration of the Jewish Territory Organization from the spiritual level.Finally,Zangwill announced the dissolution of the Jewish Territorial Organization in 1925.Although the Jewish Territorial Organization disbanded after 20 years of existence,its historical significance cannot be ignored.The organization provided more care and support for the persecuted Jews,and its activities provided material help and psychological comfort to the Jews who were in trouble at that time.In the 1930s,when the situation of European Jews was deteriorating,it provided a reference for the establishment of the free land union and objectively promoted the development of the Zionist movement.In short,the Jewish Territorial Organization is an important organization in the history of the Zionist movement and the development of the Jewish nation.It enriches the form and connotation of the Zionist movement and makes unique contributions to the development of the Jewish nation.
