In the 1970 s,when black music was on the rise,"Funk"-a kind of black soul music with Rhythm & Blues-debuted in the American pop music stage. After taking in the characteristics of gospel songs and Rhythm & Blues, and absorbing some compound rhythms of African music,it has a lot of syncopations, making it stronger and more beating and making people have a feeling of moving forward endlessly. This study took Chaka Khan,a typical representative of "Funk" music,as an example.By delving into the two representative songs recorded in his album "Funk This",which brought him back to the European and American music stage, the study focused on the unique cadences and rhythms of“Funk”,as well as its singing techniques when teaming up with a band.Since the domestic “Funk” singing teaching is still in an inactive phase, the relevant studies are limited,so this thesis should be of great significance to the domestic singers who are fond of “Funk”.
