A Brief Analysis Of The Evolution Of Women's Beauty In The Print Illustrations Of Ancient Novels

Chinese ancient novels are popular reading materials,and the illustrations are to aid the graphic media of commercial circulation.The female image is not the creation of the artist,but the image formed in the production and distribution process to achieve commercial purposes.With the commonality of popular aesthetics,there is a tendency to homogenize in the fierce competition of book production.Based on the illustrations of ancient novels and prints in the history of Chinese painting,the study of the beauty of women's images was conducted.From the mass media reading books that had the most contact with the citizens of ancient society,the development history of the beauty images and the reasons for the formation of the beauty images were analyzed.Guided by the characteristics and changes of female image beauty appearing in the paintings from the pre-Qin to Ming and Qing Dynasties,combined with the history of Chinese printmaking and the history of illustrations,this paper analyzes the background of the formation of beauty images in Chinese novel illustrations.The image analysis of the beauties in the prints of the novels of Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties was performed by image analysis.In addition,the author analyzes the causes of the beauty images of the ancient novels and prints in different times from the feedback from the public.The purpose is to study the image evolution trend of the characteristics of female "beauty" in the male aesthetic in the media with the highest public contact,and its influence on the artistic creation of later generations.From the analysis of the social roles of these beauties,the changes in costumes and appearances,and the summary of their respective characteristics and changes,as well as the aesthetic and contemporary trends they reflected at the time.From the overall study of the illustrations of ancient novel prints and beauty paintings in China,there are more related literatures on the history of maiden paintings and the history of Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty woodcut illustrations as two independent studies.In the context of development,the evolution of the beauty of female images in the history of Chinese printmaking is analyzed and the interaction between society and the public is explored.There is relatively little research on the development and evolution of the resonance of "beauty".Its significance lies in studying the impact of social environment on the illustrations of prints of ancient novels from the perspectives of aesthetic functions,cognitive functions,and educational functions,and the "beauty" experience that can be shared.
