Research On Modern Illustration Language Of Ancient Chinese Myths And Legends

Myth is an important part of Chinese national culture,which must bear the cultural background and national thought of the society at that time.However,with the development of modern society and the continuous impact of western culture,those popular myths and stories are slowly forgotten.Throughout history,different mythological images were endowed with the artistic characteristics and national essence of the society as the times changed,so the mythological images also needed to advance with the times.This does not mean to abandon the tradition,but retain its inherent properties combined with the new age people’s aesthetic culture,so as to be better accepted by people and young children.The ancient Chinese mythological images are part of the local art and they are also precious national art resources which modern graphic illustration should reference and use.In this article,I take the mythological images in myths as an example,and try to find out the deficiency of the mythological images in modern illustration design visual performance,by contrasting and analyzing the use of the mythological images in the picture books illustration.Then I can find out the new language and means of the mythological images by analyzing the cases successfully to dig deeper into the inner meaning and traditional ethnic culture of the mythological images.In this way,it is easier for the modern youth to have a deeper understanding of the ancient Chinese culture and awaken people’s awareness of inheriting and carrying forward traditional Chinese local art.In the first part,the article expounds the inherent national attributes of Chinese mythological images,the ancestors endowed mythological images with cultural connotations and natural laws and the evolution of myths.In the second part,the article mainly discusses the style changes and rules of the mythological images in illustration and finds out the transformation context and characteristics of the expression techniques of mythological images,as well as the change of the underlying cultural background through practical cases,and then reveals the important factors of the evolution of the mythological images and the important role of the mythological images in Chinese culture.In the third part,this article studies whether it can be integrated into the new creation by analyzing the excellent cases from abroad and absorbing the good techniques of expression from abroad.In the fourth part,the article analyzes factors of the development of the illustration and finds out the deficiency of the modern mythological images in illustration application performance,as well as the graft of the mythological images and the national culture,and what’s more,it is very simple in images and there is no inherent attribute support.In this part,the article also tries to find out the way to reshape mythological images by summarizing and analyzing.Finally,the article summarizes the mythological images that are suitable for teenagers’ visual aesthetic by comparing them,further explores the primitive properties of the ancient Chinese myths,finds out convenient and acceptable expressions for the public,as well as the design gimmicks of reconstructing ancient mythological images.I hope it can not only integrate local national characteristics and times features,but can also be accepted and approved by the public.
