As an important contemporary philosopher and aesthetician in France in the 21 st century,Jacques Rancière has become increasingly important in aesthetic thinking. He has proposed a unique aesthetic theory through re-problemization of aesthetics.Different from the problem of artistic self-discipline involved in contemporary aesthetics,Jacques Rancière tried to awaken the role of aesthetics in the contemporary era through the rediscovery of German classical aesthetics.Jacques Rancière 's aesthetics has a narrow sense and a broad sense.Aesthetics in a broad sense refers to a redistribution of perceptual order, which is equivalent to politics.Aesthetics in a narrow sense refers to a system for identifying art.By examining the history of Western art,Jacques Rancière divides it into the ethical regime of images, the poetic-or representative-regime of the arts, and the aesthetics regime of the arts. The three regimes form the framework of Jacques Rancière 's interpretation of Western art.In this framework, the democracy and equality highlighted by the aesthetics regime of the arts are highly valued by Jacques Rancière.By operating with a sense of dissensus,it has become a regime capable of undergoing an aesthetic revolution in society.Jacques Rancière constructs the aesthetics of dissensus through a critique of the art of consensus. The “sublime aesthetics” of JeanFrancois Lyotard and the “relational aesthetics” of Nicolas Bourriaud have become the main objects of criticism for Jacques Rancière.In Jacques Rancière 's opinion, both aesthetics have formed an aesthetic ethical turn. The shift will build an ethical consensus, which will lead to a shadow of true politics. Therefore,Jacques Rancière 's critique finally points to the construction of an dissensus community.
