The distribution of the sensible is the French theorist Jacques Rancière's representative theory.It is generated between politics and aesthetics,and then communicates politics and aesthetics.Through the emphasis on the perceptual ability shared by mankind and the intervention of perceptual images,those who are blinded by power appears on the stage.It offers the possibility of resistance to those who have no part in society,in order to challenge the order of police.The distribution of the sensible is also called the share of sensibilia.It is a division between the visible and invisible,the speakable and unspeakable,the comprehensible and the unintelligible,and includes the inclusion and exclusion of two opposing sides.Behind it lies a discourse system of power.Jacques Rancière pointed the source of criticism to Plato's order philosophy,borrowed Foucault's knowledge discourse on subjectivation,visualization and expressibility,and also presupposed the existence of aesthetic sensus communis.All of these is Rancière's site of argument.Specifically,the distribution of the sensible refers to the aesthetics and politics as aesthetics.Politics is contrary to police and generated in the order of where police was broken.It restores the community to a field of ambiguous disputes.Through the political process of subjectivation,politics disturbs the existing perceptual configuration,and then restructures the distribution of the community.Aesthetics is not only the reconstruction of perceptual experience,but also a special aesthetic regime of the arts.Arts lead to liberation by creating dissensus.So in the sight of Rancière,politics is a kind of aesthetic action,and aesthetics is political by the aesthetic action of reconstructing the distribution of the sensible.In the name of the distribution of the sensible,Rancière has constructed a new “aesthetic-political” system.Writing is naturally associated with politics.Rancière referred the excess of language to literality: Words roams outside all legal systems.Like the art as political aesthetics,literature introduces new sensibility and makes the invisible appeared.The politics of literature is said that the purity of the literature of this autonomy naturally has relationship with politics.It eliminates the hierarchy of the theme and subject matter to let the anonymous appeared;it cancels the distinction between art and life to express the appeal of equality and democracy.By the distribution of the sensible,Rancière redescribed politics and aesthetics.To give the aesthetic with the function of political practice,the distribution of the sensible is more generative.The problem is the absence of political and economic critique,and excessive emphasis on surface events to break through the politics makes Rancière's aesthetic politics stained with romantic color.It is more like a vision of utopia.
