In today's art context,art forms and concepts have undergone earth shaking changes.Traditional art forms can no longer express today's art content.Today's art is not scientific.Different cultural knowledge has been integrated into art and become the inspiration of artistic creation.Joseph Boyce,the representative figure of German Idealism studied in this paper,is one of the most controversial figures in the international art field.All his life,he used his own material art and performance art to express his times and society.Joseph Boyce is one of the most important representatives of performance art,incidental art,installation art and conceptual art in the 20 th century.He completely broke the barriers between art and daily life,believing that all materials in the world of life can be used as artistic media and conceptual objects to express specific ideas.He put forward the concept of "social sculpture",aiming to transform the society through artistic creation.The purpose of social sculpture is to restore the lost human nature and balance the relationship between reason and emotion,speculation and intuition.In his artistic creation,he often chooses unconventional materials to "challenge" traditional art,such as beeswax,animal grease,felt,oak,dead animals and so on.These materials are not only a carrier of artistic content,but also become metaphorical symbols with vitality to express his artistic ideas With his unique metaphorical symbols,Tu expresses his attitude and solutions to social and political problems caused by art.Through these real materials,he brings people more intuitive and real artistic feelings.Boyce always believes that creativity is not the patent of artists.Art is not just the works of artists,but the product of the vitality,creativity and imagination of all people.In this sense,Boyce claims that "everyone is an artist".Through the study of metaphorical symbols and "warmth" elements contained in Boyce's works,this paper analyzes how Boyce chooses and uses these metaphorical symbols,and grasps the painting language expression forms of metaphorical expression,as well as the artistic enlightenment obtained in the process of interpretation.
